Forums - Sony Discussion - Does your PS3 freeze lately during Folding@home?

I have to point out the summer heat will be doing something to your playstation 3. The summer heat last week caused my models fan to go turbo after less than 15 minutes of play, so it cant be ignored

Only it has not been terribly hot lately. Only about 25-27C. And it only happens when folding, everything else is perfect.

i still don't understand.. sorry.

so if i leave my ps3 on while folding, it will... help research on cures for diseases?

how does that happen...?

The researchers use your PS3 to run data through, or something like that.

Look, its free, doesnt affect you or ps3 in any way and it helps scientists research diseases. Thats the bottom line

Its up to you. I do it rarely, because it still uses electricity, and you dont want a huge bill
