they made me buy a ps3... way to go nintendo.

I would just like to add that I have seen many posters who (initially) claimed to have given up on Nintendo systems after the SNES or N64 are the most vocal about Nintendo abandoning the "Hard-Core" with the Wii ...

The question I have is, if you didn't buy the Gamecube/N64 or choose to buy a PS3/XBox 360 rather than a Wii does Nintendo really owe you anything? Most of Nintendo's fanbase seems entirely happy with the games that have been released, and are only a little grumpy with upcomming games because they don't know what they are; I would estimate that 95% of "Core" gamers who actually own a Wii would be entirely happy with Nintendo's treatment of them if they took a Gamer-Day or TGS to demonstrate one of the upcomming "Core" games like Pikmin, Disaster: Day of Crysis, Kid Icarus, or another (currently unannounced) game.

I have purchased every single nintendo console within the first year of it being released.  Nintendo has never been my best gameing company, it was always sega, sony, nintendo. but i still liked nintendo, but this gen i really am starting to hate them, all the games they have in my opininon are not that good and the games that are for the core gamer are few ad far between.

Mario, Zelda, Smash and so on are out for Wii in 2 years and more is coming!! : )

Though i own a Wii and only a Wii this gen i do not like your comparison since it compares it to the GCN.....nintendo's worst home console. If the comparison included Snes or even the 64 it would hold more merit with me. Though i agree with your overall conclusion.....Ninty has no abandoned the HC but instead embraced the casual a lot more.

My loyalty stay with Nintendo forever.But even i'm a Ninty fanboy ,i never do any evil things to other companies.(What i ever said was come from what i see and face it by myself.)

Looking at what Nintendo did to the world.Nintendo make everyone happy ,make family smile ,make people who never interest in gaming before gotta look back(such as my sister) ,make innovation to the game industry.

What wrong they did?Nintendo hated by someone just because they can't satisfied them?

Still, there is a difference. GC was a losing console. Wii isn't. A console that is doing better, should get more support.

Also, my look at the hardcore's look at those titles.

Twilight Princess - A Gamecube game. An awesome game, but nonetheless - a Gamecube game. I can understand people aren't all that happy with it.

So up untill Q3 year 1, hardcores felt that they really had SPM only.

Compared to the Gamecube, which at the same time had

Luigi's Mansion

SSBM

Pikmin

Wave Race

Eternal Darkness

In the next 2 Quarters, it got a bit better. It did slightly better than the Gamecube. 

You got 2 games that were pretty much the same as Gamecube versions, a slightly upgraded Metroid, and Super Mario Galaxy.

On GC, Eternal Darkness, SMS, and Star Fox. 2 of those titles were slightly dissapointing to most.

For the next 2 Quarters, it slightly outedged the Gamecube, with SSBB + MKWii vs WW. MKWii wasn't all that liked, so only slightly.

Q3 and Q4 of year 2 aren't exactly golden, with Wario Land vs F Zero, 1080, Kirby's Air Ride and Mario Kart.

I think what bugged them off, is that they when Nintendo finally looked like they were back on track and even with GC, they announced 0 hardcore titles for the most important quarter - zero, nill, none.
