By saying you didn't like the gameplay in 1, what I hear is, "I played Gears before Resistance, and didn't like Resistance as much because of that.' Which makes a lot more sense..I played Resistance before Gears, and didn't like the gameplay in Gears at all. They're both shooters, but both very different.

The thing is, these 2 games - Gears of War and Resistance, will - until the end of either series - be compared to each other. And more than likely, whichever game you play first, you'll probably like more.

The reason I say this is because I have the exact opposite opinion. I played Resistance first and found it amazingly addicting. Not to mention, no online multiplayer shooter has ever tracked stats - EVER - better than Resistance. I also found Gears to be pretty boring. Though, all of my 360 friends who had Gears and tried Resistance on my PS3 had the same opinion as you, and we've all liked all the same shooters in the past. I honestly think that whichever you play first, you'll probably like better - with a few of you being the exception, of course.

 I second this. It sounds like they tried to get a 20 year old to do an 1940's FDR voice.

It was a launch title, not only that but the only good title on the PS3 for the first year or so

Um no...I treid Gears first sure...but I played halo, counterstrike, quake, doom, duke nukem, Unreal...etc well before any of those. To me Resistance doesn't measure up to best FPS games available in 2006...gameplay wise.

No one is talking about gears and comparing it to Resistance...

 To insomniacs credit, that was their first shot at fps. They probably learned a trick or two.

Things like...if you have a health bar and med pacs, don't make respawn points so far back when you die that you have to replay a good chunk of the level before you are back to the place you died at.

Looks pretty good! Too long for a commercial, though.

Resistance: Fall of Man was awesome, I was surprised I had so much fun with a release title. I can't wait for number two, the co-op modes sounds awesome as does the online multiplayer. Also Online Co-op FTW! This is a day one purchase and I will be getting a Collectors Edition if they decide to make one.

No surprise there, it will become the top fps till Killzone2 hits.
