Sounds cool, I was deeply skeptical (I played the first one) but the more I read the more I like. And it looks GORGEOUS.

When they got positive impression to every big budget game from big publisher, yes. When was the last time they trashed one of those, huh? Oh no, they don't do that, they trash small publisher one, no big repercussion there. If that make you less pissy I got pretty much the same opinion on other big gaming website, except maybe for gamespot, after all at least one of there employ(non ex) had some gut. For the rest of them, well, whore is a pretty adequate term.

They've really improved the textures since it was first unveiled last year. Just look at the textures by this guy's feet:

To be honest I didn't really see that as a positive preview, its not negative either but it hardly screams 'revolutionary game'.
Positive;
Great art direction
Amazing animation
Neutral;
Very grey but apparently it works
Some environments destructible but inconsistent
Fairly standard but very workable cover system
Negative;
Not sold on the valve system
Still very linear
Given that previews are generally more positive than reviews I'm still not certain this is going to be the critically acclaimed blockbuster you guys all seem to think it will be.

CoD4 wasn't revolutionary by any means, but it was still GotY and sold millions (the 360 version alone is less than a million behind Halo 3!).
All I want is for this game to play great, and look stunning, and it's looking to do just that.

They said that linearity was not necessarily a bad thing, and having slightly annoying valve issues is not what a call a major issue

Most games are linear, so i don't see a problem with that. The valve part took 5seconds out of the 45min long level, it does not sould like a problem. People keep saying the game is gray and whatever else, WTF do people expect, its a military industrial complex, with warehouses made out of concrete. Plus this is only level2, last e3 we saw level3 and it was completely different. Plus at the end of one of the E3 videos they show two seconds of another level which we have not seen yet, the sky was a burning red with ash and particles flying all over the place. Plus there are 11 levels in the game.
