Ohh.. The meltdowns.

I didn't think we ever compare consoles to handhelds.

It's only about 6 million behind overall, it should reach it by November, then the console war will be over.

Worship the Wii or you're having a meltdown. Yup, sounds pretty condescending to me. But then again, some people only like to hear the masses say what they want to hear. Otherwise, they might have a meltdown.

Still weird though.  Don't understand the point in comparing Handhelds to Consoles as they are very different from each other, and cater to different markets.

@Montana: Not really. Maybe you are not happy with this happening, the masses are hearing the truth... I didnt make anything up.

There's no need to worship the Wii. People at this site are always looking forwards the next milestone. Wii is set to pass every existing console and PSP is one of them. The only ones making a problem out of this were Sony fans.

You didn't see my post congratulating the Wii? Hmmmm.........

And do you actually think the Wii will pass the DS? That's also something to think about.

Well, that would certainly make for a very interesting debate, and I'd love to hear your reasoning (really, I would).

Here are my key points:

The DS is outselling the Wii every week, often from 100k-150k. The DS has been out for about 4 years, whereas the Wii has been out for about 2 years (give or take a couple months).

Like the Gameboy, the DS will have long legs as a system, and could likely end up selling decent amounts 7 or more years after its launch.

The DS is a heck of a lot cheaper, and it will be quite a while until the Wii gets down to the DS's price (if ever).

And I could go on, but I'm a tad tired.

@Montana: Nintendo will probably ship more than 50 million Wii's by the end of FY08, that means a hell lot faster than DS in the same timeframe.

Wii's sales are only limited by supply.
