Yeah, it's not a perfect comparison, but they didn't give separate unit figures for Europe, so it's the best we can do for unit comparison. The revenue figure isn't perfect either as it also includes South America, so NA revenue would actually be slightly lower, but probably not by a great deal.

What? Both comparisons are using Americas, that doesn't seem to be the problem.

The only adjustment which needs to be made is to decrease software figures to get Europe from Others, which would very likely make them smaller (or almost equal) than Americas. It's pretty clear that this near balance of revenue and software numbers is due to the contrary forces of currency and Wii/DS price differences.

I don't understand why US & EU don't get games less than a week apart from each other. Is it that hard to convert SSBB from English.....to English?

I'm interested in how North American market compares to European market, but Americas includes countries outside of North America. I don't really consider Brazil to be the same market as US. Basically the revenue is comparing two continents against one, which isn't perfect, but it will have to do as that's all we have.

the £ sterling i might add has a 2:1 ratio with the US $. Thus we can get more for our money

@bobbo19: UK prices aren't very different from the prices in the rest of EU. It's pretty much in line with EU prices.

I often buy games from UK online shops and I don't see a big difference (apart from the great fact that UK shops seem to compete more with each other, thus having bigger and faster price cuts on many games).

Europe is already the biggest market, and has been for a few years already.

You're right though - even though translation takes a long time, most major non-Nintendo games come out only days apart.
