So core gamers are buying Game Party, Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games, Wii Fit, and the countless other number of "casual" games dominating the top spots in the charts worldwide? Oh, that's rich. Considering those games are selling through the roof while games like No More Heroes and Zach and Wiki languish on store shelves, what does that tell you? Who abandoned who here? The fact is, these so-called "casual gamers" are more loyal than those so-called "hardcore gamers" who for the first time ever Nintendo fans are described as. The fact is, these fans are all bark and no bite. They always have been. Thinking that their dissatisfaction will somehow harm Nintendo is ludicrous. It is pandering to fans that keep most companies back. It's obvious Nintendo is on the winning track here, and the fuzzy logic that Nintendo should "not abandon the fans" makes no sense. These same fans have been whining for years that Nintendo needs to change course to be successful, and when they do the fans are upset that Nintendo is abandoning them. Oh, that's right, the fans want them to be successful, but not TOO successful. Yes, that's the kind of logic you can work with *rolls eyes*. |
Some Nintendo fans and owners are the worst kind of gamers. I've seen so many with the mentality that they'll pass on any 3rd party Nintendo game if it scores below 85%, but will happily pony up $50 for a 40% rated Mario Party sequel, or the latest uninventive Pokemon title. On another site I frequent, almost every 3rd party game is ridiculed and counted out before anything is even known. All we have for the Wii Dead Rising is a few early screenshots--and many Nintendo fans/fanboys have already signed it's death certificate.
They're as bad as these idiots that claim there are no hardcore 3rd party Wii or DS games, yet at the same time, they don't own Geometry Wars: Galaxies, No More Heroes, Contra 4, Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword, Medal of Honor Heroes 2, Space Invaders Extreme, Blast Works, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, Dementium, etc. Somehow, there are hardcore gamers that seem to think that the only games that are actually "hardcore titles" are military-based First Person Shooters or MMORPG's, and since neither are prominant on the Wii, then it must be a casual system.

I ususally look at who makes these kind of statements.
They usually don't seem to own a lot of Wii games.
So I cannot tell if it is owner lament or non-owner lament.
