Forums - Sony - Where the hell is Suikoden?

it being on 360 would be a disaster for me.. nothing against the console, but i don't have one and my brother who has one isn't about to lend it. but i doubt that it'll go microsoft exclusive. 360 just doesn't have a japan base, which is suiko's largest market.

I hope it goes to the wii.

Last thing we heard of it was a rumor that it was in development for Wii. Makes sense. Most of the smaller Japanese franchises are coming to Wii. Tales, Tenchu, Fatal Frame. The AAA games stay on the HD consoles it seems. But apart from that it's very quiet around Suikoden. I hope they'll make 6.

In a few days it will be reveiled where the next MegaTen will go to.

What?! Nooooooooooooo :( Anywhere but the Wii

Come on, it's only a rumor!

But I hope you understand that this was bound to happen with Wii's staggering sales. Especially in Japan there's only one current gen console selling. There will be franchises going to Wii, that's inevitable. But like I said, probably the smaller ones. Like we see with Tenchu and Fatal Frame. Tales is also quite small. Suikoden fits perfectly in that line.

But if you love the series you can always buy a Wii, it's not that expensive and it has a lot of great games. Suikdoden was never a very graphical game anyways.

I never thought any JRPG needed any graphical showcasing, but apparently a few games seem to defy my logic (and yours too).

Well, S-E are known to make their RPGs with beautiful graphics

They could easily make a game that looks much better than FFX on Wii and it would look great. They're just to lazy to do so.

How many cups of darkness have I drank over the years? Even I don't know...

S-E, unlike other RPG developers, have the resources to make RPGs with great visuals

Suikoden 1 will shortly be available on PSN, as I recall, so those who never got to play it... good times ahead.

QUOTE?

i'd totally love that...

It showed up on the ESRB lately for "Playstation 3/PSP" -- that has PSN written all over it. =)

Head to http://www.esrb.org and search for "Suikoden".

After suikoden III, the series has been slowly dying...maybe Konami had laid it's gravestone?

Come on, I concede (as any Suikoden fan would) that IV was a disappointment, but V was a fantastic game, not on par with II (no game ever created can stand on par with II), but it was easily one of the PS2's best games.

As for where I'd like to see VI, I hope it goes to the PS3, as it's the console someday I'm sure I'll get, I don't wasnt it to go Wii, as I don't want to have to get one just for this game.

5 was really good. you gotta play it through till the end. it has the best story of the series imo.

I have V. It was okay but not as EPIC as II. The problem is that the 108 stars are usually just for show. There are always only about 12 characters that are actually useful out of 108 and they are usually so much better than the rest
