Yeah Bioshock was jaw dropping.
Final Fantasy VI and Command & Conquer Red Alert were absolutely excellent.
I loved Red Alerts I can't tell you how many times I loaded the game just to watch it.
but for me I think the Crown should probably go to Super Metroid.
To me the way it slam bangs you right into the action of the game and at the time the "cinematic" qualities to it had never been done. MGS obviously did the same and was great too. Honorable mention also for Resident Evil, that would be my runner up. It was moore subtle than SM and also later, but definatly awesome. RE would be the better choice for storyline beginning to end. The way the plot unfolds is a pinnacle achievement.
