There hyping this game way to much..I think when this game comes out its going to "fail" and then there is going to be like 30 topics about how it fail..adfjkladflkdsaflk

I'd say the game is almost officially more hyped than a Peter Molyneux game, and with less of a chance to live up to that hype.  I think it's got a chance of turning out to be a good game, but unless it's exceptional the hype is really going to backfire

It doesn't need to be exceptional. The hype isn't really claiming the game will be so much better than any other shooter games. It's more that this will just be the first such game for the Wii. That may seem silly, but if it works, it works.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Looks generic.

It's an FPS.

Seriously, what FPS isn't generic?  And don't start naming anything, because it IS generic.  I don't play shooters often, but whenever I play them, they all feel quite the same to me.

Also, like NightKnight said: it's not supposed to be the best FPS ever, it's supposed to be a good one for Wii.

This game is a tech demo. I would wager that HVS wants to put itself in the same position as Epic. That's why the game looks generic. There probably choosing not to do unique stuff so they can get out sooner than later. If this game grabs any descent amount of the FPS crowd they will have succeeded.

Why put out a tech video explaining the Quantum engine and then say it's not for leasing. They want rep for the engine first before leasing. That way they can charge more.

As for the nayser about no talent. Cleary there coders have talent. Clearly they are focusing on a barely tapped market. It's quit clear that they know what they are doing. As for story, well everyone has to start from somewhere. Either Kojima had a bunch of hack games before or he just had talent. Which is it?

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

Looks generic. And I gather the same hand full of guys developing the game are also writing the storyline, having no prior education, knowledge or known talent in writing? And this has high expectations? This is like letting a guy with no experience in directing, who may not ever even have used a camera before direct the next multi million dollar summer blockbuster. It doesn't make sense.

you know you got to start somewere, no one is expecting MGS level story its a shooter you just need a stupid reason to shoot some aliens that is all.

I thought the one set in WWII was pretty original.

It's not as though video games have excuse plots from the beginning... actually they have.

Bioshock, and shuddup. I dont know why you say what you are saying, but there have been more Platformers then anything else, are you going to say every platformer is generic? These Wii fanbois will kill you.

OT: Decidedly meh. Maybe they can clean it up some more.

I own all three current consoles and a great gaming rig, now thats out of the way.

This space Reserved for the Nuggets of Wisdom dropped by Bladeforce:

"Why post something like this when all it will get is PS3 owners blinded to reality replying? BOTH THE PS3 AND BLUE-RAY WILL NOT LAST 3 YEARS! TECHNOLOGY CHANGED TOO FAST!"

"is it Wii FIt that has sold as many as PS3's sold? Thats a LOL Look at the total sales of software is it just me that sees Nintendo titles hitting 10m+ and you say they arent making a difference? Another LOL!"

"Hell, with all the negative hype Sony spin, people just aren't interested cost is too high and to get the true HD experience (1080p, 7.1 surround) you will need a $1000+ system. THAT IS GOING TO DO IT IN A RECESSION! PS4 will not happen"

Eh, I guess I'm just not enough of a shooter-type gamer to see any special difference between one FPS and another.

looks awesome
