 NO MORE CRACK FOR YOU!!!

I owned all three consoles... My 360 red ringed before the warranty extension and my Wii had to go in once (I still have problems with the Wifi). I sold my PS3 because there were no games at the time and I was making a profit.

Before this gen I never had to call tech support, now I've called all three.

Hardware:
F for MS (Just a complete mess, no standard HDD, no batteries in controller, no Wifi) ,
C for Nintendo (Meh wifi, shoddy build campar, not enough storage, batteries, but it works),
A for Sony (built in batteries were nice).

Software:
A for MS (So many games)
B for Nintendo (Great 1st party line-up)
B for Sony (Good 1st party line-up, decent 3rd)

Online:
C for MS (Money, for what exactly?)
D for Nintendo (Would be an F if it weren't for VC and WiiWare)
C for Sony (Not as good as MS, but much more bang for the buck)

Overall Grades:
D for MS (Great games, too bad nothing to play them on... I know they fixed some HW problems and about Customer Service improvements, but they weren't there for me when I bought mine. The great library may convince me to give them another shot)

B for Nintendo (Super Mario Galaxy, Bunch of decent budget titles, bunch of innovative games VC, WiiWare are awesome - Lot of gameplay for the money. Crappy online experience overall though along with weak mature variety)

B for Sony (I'm still waiting for a reason to re-buy. Great HW, great value with BRD, Wifi, rechargeable controller, HDD, free online. Just nothing compelling me to re-buy yet.)

The Winner:

Nintendo DS.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

I love the Wii and I'm not sure I'd say I'm "disapointed" with it, but I guess its luster hasn't been as long lived as I hoped. I would say that in hind sight I feel they probably could have been more competetive with the Vid card and RAM. I realize they wanted to minimize costs but I figured they could've contracted ATi for more than what thewy got. The Gamecube stuff is a neat + that I really have been pleasently suprised with, but All in all I wouldve preffered better hardware + no GC (since both mine still work).

Software wise I think Wii has been kinda disapointing. I think Nintendo took all the right steps, and it was kind of on par with what to expect but.. SSBB was too much of a "update" rather than a stand alone title for me, I was expecting a better boss at the very least. MKWii disaponted me too. I have listed this on other threads, soo yeah Software titles could be better.

Oh yeah why is the pointer so damn shakey and finicky in the MENU when its perfectly fine in-game? Is that usual or just MiiWii..or whatever.

I have 3 new games in the mail, and want a Wii Fit, hopefully those can boost my spirits.

Also the motion controls are too simplistic which I guess is what they are adressing with ratio 1:1. You might could say I feel a little down 'cause that probably shoulda been worked out around the launch and not now. I think it is kinda gay that a lot of titles end up bieng better played "waggle style".

Disappointed with my PSP since the amountof games that interest me is getting lesser, the Wii is over my expectations since when I got it I was thinking that its just stupid play games with motion but then it worked out really well and now I am in love with it. So far I am happy with my DS, Wii and PC. As for 360 I am using it as the Halo machine for the time being.

I'm really happy with my Wii, it was worth the high price I had to pay here.

Fullfilled Prophecies

So far I have a PS3 and a DS and I plan on buying a wii and psp. So far, I am disappointed in the direction that the wii has been going and I'm disappointed in the big games I really want for the psp, taking forever to launch (2 of them launched this year, waiting on the other 2). I'm happy with my PS3, although I'm a little disappointed in the way that sony has been losing exclusives while the 360 has managed to keep theirs, I guess that's wat happens when u launch a year later and a lack luster first 10 months of life. Now, I am very excited to own a ps3, especially now that GOW3 got announced . For the DS, I'm pretty happy with it, especially now that FFIV remake just launched, me and my ds are inseperable (1 of the best rpgs this year!). All in all, this gen has been pretty good, with a lot of surprises.

BTW, great topic

For now, I'm really happy with my current gen systems, and they expected my expectations so far.

PS3:
A little disappointed at first because of the 3 games I wanted it for, only 1 was released so far, and I nearly lost interest in the other 2. Anyway, I could enjoy PS2 games that I missed in better way than on PS2 (like SotC, which plays without framerate drop). The biggest bad point for me, was that Sony basically forced my hand in buying a PS3 in advance of schedule, because I needed BC for PS2 games. It was really worth it.
PS3 being region free is also a very good thing, I already benefited from this, so I'm really happy.
Also, what looks like one of the best SRPG, from Sega no less, is coming to it, and I love SRPG. It will be my 2nd PS3 game (actually the 3rd, but one of them, F1, I didn't even unwrapped and don't intend to play it at all). Now I'm glad I'll be able to use more power from the PS3 for games.

Wii:
The Wii just exceeded all my expectations. I have tons of games for it (well, for me it's tons, for hardcore gamers, it's just 1 month's worth of games, as I have like 10 Wii games), I never bought so many games so fast on any console. That's also the first console I bought at launch. The game I bought it for, Fire Emblem, was localised for my native language, so even if it had been crappy, it would have been enough. But the VO is actually good, which is plain amazing.
Playing ToS on it was better than on the GC, as it is more powerful, and reacted better in the breaking glass sequence at start of battle, and the fade to light en sequence of boss battles, for example.
Also, while originally, one of the Wii's flaw was that it wasn't region free, this has been solved. First with Freeloader which was cumbersome, then now with the Homebrew channel, which is much better than the Freeloader: easier to use, works better, bypass the latest update (3.3), ...
This console just gets better and better. It also looks very good on my HDTV, no problem of any pointer lag (I can even see the pointer slightly shake on the screen from the natural shake of my hand), ...
