Forums - Microsoft - “New Xbox 360 dashboard leaked, shown running on a modded console”

lol. Honestly, that looks like a combination of the iPhone's GUI and the XMB. Still, good for M$ for finally making a GUI that doesn't suck. (The dashboard makes stuff waaay harder to find/use than it should)

Not trying to be a fanboy. Of course, it's hard when you own the best console eve... dang it

Yeah..its kinda hard to see, but *chomp chomp* anyone hear that biting?? Looks like XMB with actual pictures instead of avatars..and when they selected things, it looks almost identical to when you're reading information on something from the PSN store..that's just me though.

You mean Sony's patent on having Main categories and subcategories underneath.  Glad they were the first to do that.  It has as much in common as Vista Media Center / Zune Marketplace as it does the XMB.  Sorry but claiming it's a ripoff of the XMB is grasping at some pretty thin straws.

They did not rip off Sony, they ripped off Apple (just like MS did with Vista).

This is a great example of cover flow.

My iPod has coverflow.  I don't see it as ripping off either.  It's photo navigation.  I mean they've been doing this with slideshow viewers for years. Nothing new.

If you want to talk ripping off bring up avatars but calling the dashboard navigation a "ripoff" I just don't see it.  Maybe others think differently but I'm just calling it like I see it.

I am not talking about just photo navigation... the images look like they are standing up in space, with a reflection below then fading away. That is a 100% rip-off of Apple. MS does this in Vista as well, along with about 100 other things they ripped off from apple.

There is photo navigation, and there is stealing a design. This, is stealing a design.

cmon, a reflection means it's a ripoff? It has almost nothing in common with coverflow other then a small aestetics similarity that is only a small part of a much more encompassing dashboard revamp.  Apple doesn't have a patent on a reflection lol.

I have both iPhone and Sony PS3 (and PSP) and it look and function nothing at all like XMB or iPod interface.  If you have used Media Center or Vista, it is more like Media Center/Vista than anything else.  I am not a big fan of Media Center interface.  I find it very confusing to navigate so here hoping they have simplified it even more.  I am not a big fan of both vertical and horizontal navigation ... may be I am just old.

Oh and if you want to talk rip-off, PSN store is a lot like Xbox Marketplace. ..

Fair point... to a point... cos you see the PSN has bugger all content

(well here in the UK it doesnt at any rate.. it is shite compated to the US PSN store, and I mean REALLY shite)

At least UK is better than Australia when it comes to online gaming services and at least UK allowed both Dark Sector and Fallout 3 to come to UK. Dark Sector was banned in Australia due to being too violent and there not being an R rating for video games. Oh well Dark Sector was garbage. In Australia, Fallout 3 has been banned due to a reference to morphine, what a pathetic country Australia is. Hey, shit I better not say that. I live in Australia.
