Forums - Sony - Ted Price: "We've really upped the gore."

I know this is a bit old, but I don't recall it being posted here, so I figured I'd post it for those who haven't seen it.

From PSU:

According to Insomniac Games President Ted Price, Resistance 2 will be upping the violence and showing off more intense depictions of gore than it's predecessor.

"We've really upped the gore," said Price. In the final version of the game, players will be able to shotgun off the heads of the chimera and even go as far as dismembering their arms, legs and so on.

Also revealed was a new weapon, the 44 Magnum, which players can use to fire and remotely detonate bullets. Frankly, I can't wait to shoot a Chimera in the head then run away as they blow it like an exploding watermelon.

I'll leave you to think about that graphic depiction while our Resistance 2 preview brews inside the depths of PSU.

Good level design, moving story, character depth and development...

oh and solid gameplay.

(Note: I am not saying anything bad about Resistance, only pointing out some stuff that gamers might want.)

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

It's a shooter  That's what the genre was founded on.

And besides, the original Resistance was a shooter with some horror elements to it, and some extra blood and gore would only add to that experience.

Like OkeyDokey said it dosent hurt.

Im glad that Cliff Blezinsky didn't give into that urge to bump up the violence and gore. So therefore I am compelled to point out that Microsoft > Sony and GOW2 > RFOM2 because of this issue.

Tease.

Fixed.

I don't know why you would mention God Of War 2 though.. but you are right.. it beats practically everything.

Also i can't wait. It's gonna be great. More gore compaired to the first resistance is a good thing :)

Check out my game about moles ^

The idea of shooting something and remotely detonating the bullets is stupid in my opinion. That means that the bullet needs to have gunpowder for propulsion, explosives, a detonator and a radio receiver the last three of which need to survive the impact. How big are these bullets?
