Also, you could build a great gaming PC for <$550 (sorta like what Soleron said but I think you can make a better one)...You can get a AMD Athlon 64X2 5400+(2.8ghz), Raideon HD 3850, motherboard of your choosing, 160-320GB HDD, 2GB Mushkin RAM (DDR2 800), a nice looking case (RAIDMAX Sagitta 2), also a Lite-On Blu-Ray player,  and a 500w PSU for <$550 (with no monitor and with all the mail-in rebates from Newegg)....(this also adds in shipping and handling from Newegg)..

You'll probably appreciate an awesome PC ($900 will get you a nice PC) overall, because it's not just for games...you'll have a faster PC for everything.

I like all kinds of games. Shooters, Action Adventures, Sports. Not really playing much mmo anymore. And I already have a good laptop for work and school. I guess pc come cheaper than I though. Can they still handle nxt gen games?
ps3 just seems to offer a lot in nice package. a lot of games aren't on pc these days too. Dgc1808, I see what your saying about games being cheaper on pc but that's why i was thinking gamefly. And being able to rent from gf and even buy at discount then trade the in sounds like a good way to go. does anyone use them?

PC since it has tons more uses that a ps3. Plus, for $900 you could get a pc and a wii.

PS3: Only if you want to play games and do some Online gaming.

PC: Only if you plan on using it for more than just gaming.

If your current computer is good enough for you just to browse the internet and not game, I would recommend a PS3.

It boils down to if you would rathwer game on a PC or game on PS3, of course not all games on PS3 will come to PC.



  • 2010 MUST Haves: WKC, Heavy Rain, GoWIII, Fable III, Mass Effect 2, Bayonetta, Darksiders, FFXIII, Alan Wake, No More Heroes 2, Fragile Dreams: FRotM, Trinity: SoZ, BFBC2.
  • Older Need To Buys: Super Mario Bros. Wii, Mario Kart Wii, Deadspace, Demon's Souls, Uncharted 2.

There is definitely more to list that I want, but that's my main focus there.

I say get the PS3, but it all depends on what you like.
