Hmmm. I guess we'll start hearing a lot of these, Iraq is going great, Afghanistan is going great since we have an election coming up and the current regime wants nothing more than McSame to get elected.

I don't buy it for a second.

Right because George W. Bush and the Republican party control the media that makes perfect sense.

The reason why you can tell the conflict in Iraq is going well is because of the fact that news stories about Iraq have died down in the liberal media and the only mention of it you ever see is when they say that it is a big issue or about how Obama is going to pull out and crap like that.  If it was going poorly the libs would be all over it because it going poorly would be the only thing they have going for them but since its not they don't want anybody to know.

And @ PS360ForTheWin the UN doesn't control the world and if it was illegal you would think they would have done something about it but they didn't.  The United States approved it and by United States law it is completely legal.

Doesn't anybody read THE FREAKING ARTICLES anymore. I am sick and tired of the portrayal of this war being underwrited in a liberalistic partisan light for the ratings of the damn media. Yes, Bush was premature in his "Mission Accomplished" sign and stating that major combat operations in Iraq have ended but he did not realize that the insurgency would arise to dramatic levels after the Iraqi's welcomed American's claiming "Allah bless George Bush and his family." --Yes they did say that, Kurds especially. So before you teenage pansies on the Net rambling on about something you really don't understand I suggest you look at the progress beyond the liberal TV and do independent research. BTW the US was filled with turmoil during the Articles of the Confederation years before becoming the world's most successful hyperpower.

im sorry, are you trying to justify a war which was illegal and has lead to the death of thousands of iraqis and hundreds of british and american troops?

First of all it had the approval of the US Congress and when you sign up you can't expect peace for all of you military career.

the UN said no, so the war is illegal (edit) also, your contempt for the lives of the soldiers is appaling

I have no contempt but gratitude (read my previous posts you wipe).  And the UN is a bunch of hippie paper pushers who don't give a damn.  If I had a dollar for every useless and taxing gesture they made I would make Bill Gates look like a pauper.

Thank you Ickalanda.

Yeah. That's why McCain expects the Iraq war to be over during the next presidents term. Unless Obama extends it anyway.

It's not like they're trying to stop all violence, just get the Iraqi goverrnment competent enough to defend itself.

The real risk is Obama's plans to start pulling out immediatly regardless of the problem but then go back if things get worse... based on the premise that Iraq can protect itself... it's just too lazy to and perfers to have America there. Ever since the largest sunni party joined it's basically going to be over if handled correctly. Of course Obama is unwilling to admit this since it would hurt him politically in a huge way. Probably also why he's dodging debates. McCain wants something like 10.... Obama wants like... 2. Ala Bush. Makes you wonder since he's supposed to be the better speaker.

He's not - have you heard the man speak without his cue cards? It's hilarious! I uh...you know, uh...that...uh, what I meant to say is....

He makes Bush seem like a professional orator.

Obama does mumble a lot... but he still makes good speaches i think. I mean there is a reason people like him.

Bwahahaha, and we should care what the useless UN says why, exactly?

@Kasz: he does deliver pre-prepared speeches well.  I was referring to his aptitude for off-the-cuff speaking.

Oh boy, another believer in the liberal media.  Is this Rush Limbaugh?

the war in iraq was (and is) opposed by most of the international community, that alone should be reason enough not to have gone there, im angry with Bush for going in there, but more angry at Blair for taking us in after him (spineless twat)

ummmm.... actually, according to "international law" (whatever that is) the US can pretty much do whatever it wants. please read this article. Just because most of the world doesn't like it doesn't mean it's "illegal." If all the other countries in the world really think that as much as they say they do, why don't they just launch an all-out attack on US troops in Iraq? Heck, why don't they simply lauch a full-scale nuclear attack on the US and be done with it?

Not trying to be a fanboy. Of course, it's hard when you own the best console eve... dang it
