Forums - Gaming - LCD or Plasma ?

Sony certainly dont make the best TV's. Panasonic do. Look at reviews online, Panasonic TV's are the nuts. And yes Plasma is better.

i laugh at your fanboyism and lack of knowledge.

i used to own a plasma tv(samsumg) and it burned out. plasmas are very complex.

now i own a sharp aquos.

3 brands to buy from that i trust the most are: sony, samsung, sharp.

remember plasmas are cheaper in the higher screen sizes. but i find lcd's to be more reliably.

go with lcd.

this is the best advice for you, forget about who make the best TV, or which TV model is better. all these talk is pointless, the best thing for you to do is go in an electronic store and take a look at all the display screen. Then Pick up whatever TV you think have the best image quality and the best design. I find it significantly import to find a TV actually match my furniture, I spend like most of my leisure time in front of the PC monitor than watching anything with my panasonic 50' Plasma. The TV is basically there to make my home look nice lol

all these technically talk about plasma and LCD is stupid, TV don't last forever. sooner or later it'll break no matter whatever brand you bought. IF you find something have an acceptable picture quality with an affordable price plus a good design look, then go for it.

at last ... i make my decision and i take one of the samsung plazma TVs ... its have a crystal clear picture and fast respons time i didnt notice any blur in the picture ... my old 32" LCD is nothing against this monster plasma TV .... and i feel that the plasma is better than LCD for games.

for all people that tell me to get LCD thanx but iam sorry .... i dont like the blur even if its a little.

anyway thanx for all of u for your advices.

For gaming, I would recommend LCD's.

LCD. This is no longer even a debate these days.

but there is still a blur

The blur lies with older models. If you're buying a new model from one of the industry leaders in LCD, then like the image of the HDTV itself...there is no blur.

Don't plasma's have screen burn with video games i.e. if you pause your game the picture can permanently be burned into the screen.

but i read that the new models have anti-burn system ... thats mean its still not efficient ??

Don't forget to bring your own gaming console to really see the differences!

Currently Playing:

Wii: Mario Kart Wii, Wii Sports Resort

Xbox360: Fifa 2009, Halflife 2 Episode 2
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Want to play:
Wii: Lego Indiana Jones, SMG2
Xbox360: MW2

Here's some anecdotal evidence. I have a 46" Bravia XBR2, 40" Bravia XBR2, and a 36" Samsung (not sure the model, but it was the latest one that came out last holiday season). All have great picture quality, but IMO the Sonys outclass the Samsung. It's a slight difference, but the Samsung seems to have more "artifacts."

My Top 5:

Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 3, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Chrono Trigger

My 2 nex-gen systems: PS3 and Wii

Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.
