wow,
DO ANYTHING U WANT , JUST STAY AWAY FROM INNOCENT PEOPLE
WE'VE SEEN KIDS WOMEN AND MEN DYING AND IT HURTS SO BAD

Who cares if they become a Nuclear power? I believe the US is one yet we aren't pushing for it's dismantlement eventhough the US is the only country to have ever used a nuclear weapon. In fact I hope that Iran becomes a Nuclear power capable of threatening US safety as it would hopefully counter US imperialist ambitions.
The US is the only country to use a nuclear weapon against ANOTHER country. I'm all for nuclear energy, as long as it doesn't lead to nuclear based weapons. Though I'd prefer a much more clean and renewable energy resource such as Solar or Wind.

Iran doesn't want that though.
The UK has offered them a bunch of money to get free nuclear matierals from Russia to use in their plants to be removed by the international community once it is consumed to make sure it isn't used for weapons.
If what iran really wanted was nuclear power... the deals offered to them would of been amazingly more in their favor then bothering with the technology themsevles.
What should the US do though?
Nothing. Let the UK deal with it. I'm sick of the US getting all the shit for this stuff. Let the UK deal with it. Seems like both McCain and Obama are in favor of invading Iran though... so i doubt the US will play hands off.

they will use there nukes to threaten and bully the international community into ignoring its awfull policy and dreadfull human rights abuses - or am i thinking of the US, i get confused, which country is the one with the insane leader?

Both country's have insane leaders... well, Bush is merely not thinking most things through but Ahmedinejad is balls out loony. Still, I doubt Iran as a nuclear power would be any different then Pakistan being a nuclear power.
Personally what the UN, witht he US should do is construct those nuclear plants themselves. No annoyences with inspections and it's the quickest solution to shut Iran up about energy crisis my drunk face can come up with for now.

thats my point they both have awfull leaders and awfull foreign policy, for the US to do anything would be hippocracy (unless the US acknowledge the UN, pull out of Iraq, charge bush with war crimes and get rid of all there nukes) the same goes for my country (UK)
Depends on whether you watch Fox News. Israel has 120 nukes, had them for over 30 yrs so is that a problem to you? US, of course the only country insane enough to test them on actual people. If you learn about security threats you would know that competitors are simply out doing each other. India / Pakistan, US / Russia, etc. The real question is whether a country is legitimatly able to develop Nuclear power, as an energy supply, without paranoid lunatics assuming, as in iraq, that they are actually up to no good.
“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

If Iran wasn't up to no good they would accept the UKs deal to have nuclear power plants not only for free... but actually getting paid to have them.
Israel hasn't ever threatened to wipe a nation off the earth by any means neccesairy either. Nukes are a problem. You can't just take them from the countries that have them though because they have... well nukes.
