I think the current rating system is hugely flawed, because anyone can vote higher or lower based on the platform it is on instead of the game itself.  

I think that it should be based off of metacritic or gamerankings. If it doesnt break copyright laws then we could put the score from the site and place a hyper link to metacritc or gamerankings. 

This would also let people see the real ratings of the game instead of a fanboy rating. 

I think this will help the site alot due people can spend more time on this site instead of going to gamerankings or metacritic.

yea it pretty much sucks balls..i had the luxury of being part of this site when they first started using that system and most people just voted games down just because it was on a different platform that they didnt like..

Gamerankings and Metacritic are only for fanboys to say "game x is 01.1 better than game Y the worst with those sites is they do nearly nothing themself just take others work.

First off, Gamerankings and Metacritic are often misused. Not only by people who visit the site, but reviewers who might not have given a truly honest review. Second, people can no longer give ratings to games, and the most probable reason that the rankings still exist is that ioi is busy improving the site (numbers, news article) instead of focusing on things of little significance.
