Since you are the exception, I would like to point to the main page for the total sales, yeap, the numbers don't lie, the PS3 is expensive and features the lower value per dollar of the three consoles for the majority of the market...

for me its too expensive and why need a BR player when id ont even have a HDTV. also i dont care for any of the games and i really dont care for the playstation in general cause of it copying everything it does from other companies. its not innovative, stylish or cool to have one. so yeah the ps3 is not a buy for me no matter what hte price.

 Its almost uniformly best to ignore people like Rock_on_2008.  Just a word to the wise.

The reason I don't own one is, seeing as I still own all the Wii titles I want, my video game dollars are better spent elsewhere.  The cost of just getting the system, not even being able to play anything, equals 8 - 10 or so Wii games (and that's not including VC games).

I have no interest in Blu-Ray at the moment as I really don't feel like dumping a grand or so just to upgrade my DVD collection.

The lack of games that I am even a little interested in.  The Sony exclusives offer little that isn't done better or just as well somewhere else, with the exception of maybe MGS4 (future releases not withstanding).

And if I were at a point where I had money to invest in an HD console, it would be a 360.  Better exclusives, near identical technical implementation by 3rd parties, better online, less money, etc.

If I did have the cash to buy all three, I would.  But I would rather concentrate money on one console.

- not enought big games that interest me (MGS4)
- GT5/FFXIII delayed
- never buy console early in the generation (not enought content)
- expensive : I can buy it but I feel strange to put so much in 1 console
- dont care of BR
- I would like BC ... to upscale PS2 games

Overall, I will buy one but I dont feel I need to hurry.

I see you didn't even decide to talk about how wrong you were about 15k Television sets though.  The truth of the matter is, the paragraph you wrote applies only to the most extreme fanboys of any console on this site.  Not just to PS3 fanboys.

 

I didn't feel the television set were worth following up on as I didn't present the statement as a fact, so much as an exaggeration to make a point, I'm not trying to cop out of this either. I mean, I'll gladly concede my price point for the HD TVs were off because I don't care and didn't really think it was something integaral to my argument or yours, if I can't afford a $400 console I'm not going to be able to afford any HD TV much ales one that can play video games.

I suppose my summary does encompass most of the extreme fanboys, but they certainly seem to be the most outspoken and most frequent contributors on these forums. If these people do not represent the Sony Community they at the very least have hijacked the Sony Comunity.

because i got the 60gb for 550$ plus taxe plus 3years warranty for a total of 775$ so i wasn't able to pay for school :( sony ruined my life!!!!!

The PS3 would be the last console I would buy. I am, as my tag says, finding myself with less and less enthusiasm for playing games, especially those that require a lot of time and energy. And the PS3 is a platform for which most games require a lot of time and energy.

Also, I'm broke, and cannot afford a Wii, much less a PS3.
