I hope your wrong but whatever. Porting isnt that big of a deal to me it just pisses me off when great games like BioShock, Saints Row, Dead Rising, and plenty others stay on one console and dont get ported to another while almost all of the PS3 games are being ported. I wish GeoW was on the PS3 so I could play it. I also wish I had a PS3. Im depressed.

Actually, my understanding is that Dead Rising 2 will be on the PS3. Can someone confirm/deny that? I understood that Dead Rising wasn't ported largely because it was already an older game by the time the PS3 was released and that porting would no longer make enough money to be worthwhile.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that DR2 would be 360/PS3. If anyone can find a link, that would be grand.

Well company's are porting older games and making millions (FF). Man see I would love to see those games on the PS3. I just dont like how the 360 is setup plus I cant get used to the controller. If Dead Rising 2 does come to the PS3 I will be happy. Thanks for telling me.

As for FFXIII I think they will keep it exclusive because if im understanding this correctly SE cant port it to the Wii because its not powerful enough and yet theres no point bringing it to the 360 since it has bassically no userbase what so ever. Then again the hardcore buy games on it (Trusty bell for example). What the hell is trusty Bell anyways?

Sure, there is no userbase in Japan, but there is one oversees. And, considering it does touch on the matter of profit, it could be that it will be exclusive in Japan, but Multi oversees -ala Gundam. Basically, if the game does not turn a profit in Japan, it could be ported to the 360 to increase profits.

no userbase? I don't know if you noticed but the PS3 is the console with no user base. There are 10 million X360 owners around the world.

Remember Final Fantasy sells very well outside Japan, and it would make a lot of sense to port it to the 360. I also wonder how the sales of the 360 will go in Japan if they had a FF release...

Help! I'm stuck in a forum signature!

ps - all get ready for xbots to flood the forums in similar fashion like the MGS threads.

You do realize that FF sells better outside Japan, right? SE is looking at overall market share, not just Japan. And the 360 is sitting around three times the units of the PS3.

I'm not saying a port will happen but Konami can't afford to pay that much attention to Japan alone with a $20m game.

however some 3rd party games will stay exclusive, just like Ninja Gaiden on xbox stayed exclusive even not released by M$ - Developer: Team Ninja, Publisher: Tecmo.

if by the end of march 2008 there wil be 10 ps3 sold and only 15 mln. x360, well i don`t see the big difference. :)

anyway, i think Darkness sales in usa will show how many there are hardcore gamers on both systems. :)

Every 5 seconds on earth one child dies from hunger...

2009.04.30 - PS3 will OUTSELL x360 atleast by the middle of 2010. Japan+Europe > NA.

Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.

Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.

1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.

PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.
PS2 2001 vs PS3 2008 sales numbers =) + New games released in Japan by 2009 that passed 100k so far

 Yeah. All 2 of them.

The reason why you can't discount any game being multiplatform between the PS3 and XBox 360 is because their combined sales at the end of 2007 will be (roughly) equal to what people expected the PS3 to sell on its own; also on a worldwide basis (and in most regions) neither platform is strong enough to support exclusive content at the current development cost.

As a basic exercize to demonstrate my point, take major game releases (like MGS, Halo 2 and FF) and  calculate the ratio of users who bought these games upon their release; after that calculate the ratio of users who would need to buy these new games in order to match the sales from the previous versions. If I were the CEO of a major corporation I'd be fairly worried about my bottom line if I was releasing a game exclusively for either platform.

Ya but I remember SE saying something that there most concerned about Japan.

Freetranslation.com FTW.

《主語なし》It is the question of the 3rd one. 《主語なし》Diffusion number of units taking out with low PS3, whether the development in Xbox360 is absent about FF13, whether or not to be not examining multi-platform etc., or it is good. Also, as for the break-even point how many units does it become when PS3 departed a/the difficult problem?

《主語なし》Besides it not such that I am not able to use it at all just because I commenced as for PS3, although a/the change is absent now. 《主語なし》I see timing regarding sales. Even the impetus is important in addition to the number of units in the point.
