Forums - Gaming - Banjo Nuts and Bolts Looks Really Bad...

If Banjo was coming to the Wii this thread would not exist.

Because Nintendo fans are generally so tolerant of their favourite series being taken in drastically different directions?

There is a long track record of Nintendo making fairly minor changes to a series, and having Nintendo fans completely freak out ... In Nintendo's case, because the high quality and feel of the game is usually preserved, this usually doesn't have that big of an impact on the final product; but there are lots of companies who don't have the magic touch when it comes to these types of things and it has cost them dearly.

This is because Rare is awesome and your tiny brain is too small.

True that.

Not in its same form...

You would have made it

Seriously- I remember millions of Nintendo fans TRASHING WW because of the way it looked, so please dont pull that.
I just made a thread about how stupid Nintendo's new secretive stagedy for realeasing new game info is.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

Yes, it's because Nintendo routinely makes drastic changes and they're almost always awesome.

Nintendo fans do freak out before hand, like Wind Waker and Metroid Prime. Problem is, they usually look back on these games and recognize them as gems, while they horribly await the next drastic change the series takes. Looking back, Nintendo fans have been mostly wrong to be wary of these changes, so I don't take this backlash against Banjo too seriously. It was almost 10 years between Super Metroid and Metroid Prime, the same as Banjo-Kazooie, and that series took a VERY drastic turn. To many people it's almost nothing like the Metroid of old, and yet it turned out fine.

Metriod was a 2d - 3d transition... so.. duh.

Most people still prefer the OoT/TP Zelda over the WW... I think keeping cel shading alive on the DS zelda was a good move.

Banjo has gone from a Mario esque platformer to Twisted Metal meets Mario Kart with some pilotwings for good measure.

why so much love for a game that's not out yet..

same counts for hate

let's all wait..Rare has been really weird since cube days (Starfox:Adventures)

so...uhm....let's just wait and see if this will be any good

well...did you forget to mention Starfox:Adventures for the GCN?....that was a rare game...they screwed the series hard

it's not because it's not coming to the Wii..it's just because I've lost faith in Rare...I loved perfect dark

I was considering buying the 360 just for PD:Zero...lol...I'm glad I didn't

Banjo is a system seller for me, and I think it looks fantastic. I love games where you can explore, and I love plat formers, but it is only fun to explore when the worlds are imaginative. I also like vehicular combat games like vigilante 8 (as well as RTS, but that doesn't come into play here) so BK is looking very very good to me.

I dunno about this game either, nothing was really shown in the preview... & what's with all the vehicles?
