Forums - Gaming - just getting a chance to vent some stress on the new consoles...

as an owner of all the next-gen consoles and having put as much money as i can to get the full blown experiance of each of them, you would expect me to be very content with all these new awesome consoles beaming new playable media on my HDTV.

however, i have been really dissapointed in alot of ways towards many features of these new consoles. i just thought i take this oportunity to rant. i'll break it up into each console.

the wii: eventhough the price was more than resonable, why is it that i had to pay an extra $50 to get a copy of wii sports without a genuene case. they might as well have made it a demo with that poor excuse of a case.  the motion control system is really cool but having a stupid looking adaptor hanging on my screen to use this function really pisses me off.  and because the wire is so thin i have to constantly replace it, as my pets have no trouble destroying it everytime it's exposed.  the internet features are sh** at best.  it takes me a least 45 min to get online and download the VC games i bought this system for.  after i bought all the incarnations of the controls i realized i payed far to much to enjoy this console. 40 for the wand, 20 for the nunchuk, and 20 for a standard that doesn't vibrate (but has what appears to be an attachment region for one so they can charge you another $20 for that too) the component video option is constatly scewing up (no mater what screen i use it on)  but it still has the exclusive francises i love, mario, zelda, metriod, so there you are.

the ps3: with all the hype of the awesome games that were showcased thoughout the time that builded up towards the launch, they really fell short on launch day and have yet to really get my attention with a 5 star game.  the PSnetwork could really use some more content to justify the reason of having it in the first place.  but i cant complain too much as i spent alot of money on the ps2 and can still play all those game on it, and  in HD now.

the 360: talk about being screwed in every way possible. I got the core a launch (because the store i went to had no premiums and after waiting all night i wasn't gonna return home empty handed) it cost a bit to get the system running well enough to appreaciate. 300 for the console, 100 for a 20gb harddrive (thats just downright BS right there), 50 for a wireless controller, 20 for the charging unit, 40 for HD cables, 50 for the LIVE service. the accessories are rediculously over priced, come on 100 for a 20gb HD and 100 for the wireless adaptor. those prices are BS. and even though i paid 50 bucks for the live service, i have to dish out tons of cash for all the worthwire content on the servers anyway.   i've already spent over 300 dollars in content alone they shouldn't charge you to gain access to the content as well.  the games are too expensive IMO for a standard DVD.  they have no reason to charge 59.99 for a game that was also released on PC for 49.99 its rediculous.  their service as a whole sucks a$$ .  my original GT was cgnobody but when i moved and later got my new internet connection the said i had to change my name eventhough i'm the same person with that origional account, it BS.

anyway, those are just some of my complaints.

lets hear some of yours

i will compile the info you give and be submitting it to the contacts i have for each company (nintendo, microsoft, and sony)

feel free to be as vicious in your post as you feel about your reason, it'll help get the frustration out.

Truly I can only be pissed at the PS3, because it's the only one I own. I got the console in January with BestBuy gift cards that I won from work, so I cannot complain about the price(free is always good) I can say that I wouldn't have bought the console that early in it's life and would probably buying it in July now that some good titles are available and better coming very soon. I have been sick and tired of waiting for games to come out and now understand the frustration from people I knew that got a launch PS2.

Not really that much bitching but the constant delays were a pain is the ass for awhile, hopefully no more. I do feel for you about the 360, a coworker got one and was a complete fanboy, touting the lower price as a major plus.... till he actually added it up like you did, and now 4 systems later it's even more expensive for him.

I still think that HD support should be in the Wii, I would already have one if it was. Please do not confuse being able to send a signal in 1080p means that the Wii would cost and extra billion dollars or anything, just look at upconverting DVD players, same price as any other quality DVD player. I already feel the bashing coming because of this misunderstanding... sigh...

i own 2 out of those 3..  im pissed at the lack of ps3 games right. now.. and the ps network is still pathetic right now... it needs more content... but its looking good in the coming months... for the 360 i feel your pain... i cant believe you bought a core...that was a wrong move i would have waited.. but yes microsoft is the new king of nickel and diming 300 dollars in content alone sucks...

Well you can get a wireless sensor bar. WiiSports is basically only included because the retailers wanted the price higher so they could turn a higher profit on it 'cause they figured it'd just be sitting around taking up shelf space forever. Go figure, right? They aren't gonna be lowering the price now any time soon, that's for sure. My GC controllers work on all the VC games so far that I know of, and let me play GC games to boot, so haven't had that problem. Haven't tried using component cables so don't know what's up with that, faulty cables or faulty system maybe.

But I do have a problem where almost every time I go into a channel for the first time after powering on the Wii it hangs up on a black screen for more than a minute, so I just leave the thing on all the time now. I'm also annoyed that third-parties in general keep trying to sell me what I've already bought (WiiSports and WiiPlay clones) instead of something different that I'd want to buy next. Zelda is still the best-selling title outside those bundled games, you know, why don't you go clone that! Fortunately I only get to play a few hours a week so one great game every month or two is more than enough for me between Wii and DS and PC.

this thread sorta reminds me of a thread we all made a long time ago... THE SAY SOMETHING GOOD ABOUT THE CONSOLE YOU LIKE THE LEAST THREAD something like that... i should look in the archives and post on that.... nah...dont feel like searchin for it...

Wii - Please, please, please make a decent recharge/docking station because the controllers are costing me a small fortune in batteries. I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place - the current recharge packs come with a raft of bad reviews so I'm not going to risk buying one, but I don't want to buy rechargable batteries if there is the prospect of a decent recharger being released specifically for the Wii.

Nyko Charge station. And don't believe what people may say, it's very easy to dock the remotes even with the straps and the rubber grip on the back is quite nice.

I'm not sure what charger you're reading reviews for, but this one is great.  It's easy to use, plugs into the wall (I'm quite glad it's not USB powered), and the charge lasts a pretty long time (never run out of batteries yet and I'm had quite a few long RE4 sessions with it).
