Hopefully, playing VP1 and VP2 is not necessary to fully enjoy VPDS since I played nither of the two.

I think there is no need to play the first 2 games since its a new character but will meet some of the old ones.

Just to clarify the PSP port I was talking about was the original that came out for PS1.
This DS game is a brand new game.
But since I didnt like the original Im not going to play this. The original is really terrible so I dont care for the series.

It won´t be necessary, but it will be hard for you to get into its universe and recurring characters will be unknown to you. This one is a spin-off.
I loved both VP and VP2, I preferred VP more though.
