Forums - Nintendo - Valkyrie Profile DS

The DS one is base on a different story and has new systems like Karma, so its a new game while PSP was a port of the PS1 game.

Hopefully, playing VP1 and VP2 is not necessary to fully enjoy VPDS since I played nither of the two.

I think there is no need to play the first 2 games since its a new character but will meet some of the old ones.

Played the port to the PSP. It was terrible. Im not sold on this but I really like the name so I wanna like the name :P

what is this game port of?

so it isn't a remake??

It's a port of original Valkyrie Profile for PS1.

About the VP for DS, looks great, can't wait.

If the PSP port is really terrible as Valkyria00 said then I don't think the DS version will be any better.

Too bad, I'll pass this thank you very much. I pretty much HATE ports.

Just to clarify the PSP port I was talking about was the original that came out for PS1.

This DS game is a brand new game.
But since I didnt like the original Im not going to play this. The original is really terrible so I dont care for the series.

It won´t be necessary, but it will be hard for you to get into its universe and recurring characters will be unknown to you. This one is a spin-off.

I loved both VP and VP2, I preferred VP more though.
