It can be considered better in many aspects, but there are a few problems.

The music quality (it sounds like a fanmade reproduction using cheap synthesis) and the interface is VERY laggy during battles are my biggest complaints. :(

It's not bad by any means, just not "the better version in every way" good, you know? (FFIV is my favorite mainline FF game, btw)

Vanguardian, while I agree that it still sounds like Midi I think you should go back and play the SNES or GBA version and see if you still think the music is better on the old version.

Boss battles are much more intense. I barely survive that damn mount hobbs boss.

as long you know what your doing the game is moderately easy.

dont go wondering off story plot.
I just got the ship, And I went down southwest near eblar castle, The enemys are very tough.

just before you get the ship
there an epic boss battle at the castle. I hate that Boss!

I can't wait to see what the end boss looks like... do not spoil it for me.

Still, it's scary.

Much worse than The thing that looked like it came out of R-type.
