Forums - Gaming - Confirmed: No Final Fantasy VII Remake Coming

I recently got sent the tech demo from a friend on youtube, he also said that it was made a few years back, so if there was a remake or 'newer' FF7 it surely cant be far off right?

btw I'm hoping for a PS3 exclusive FF Online (Thats free, not like FFXI)

Man... I really like the idea of the remake...

SSBB FC: 5155 2671 4071 elgefe02: "VGChartz's Resident Raving Rabbit"   MKWii:5155-3729-0989

That's right they aren't making a remake yet, they still have to make a remake of the far better game FFVI first!

I didn't buy a PS3 so I could play a PS1 game. What Square should remake is the magic they had in the PS1 era when they released NEW titles like Vagrant Story, Chrono Cross, 3 Final Fantasies, Xenogears, etc.

My Top 5:

Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 3, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Chrono Trigger

My 2 nex-gen systems: PS3 and Wii

Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.

I doubt this site is reliable. Have they revealed anything else ahead of time?

I don't even think I've heard of them ...

I haven't either. People just need to wait til after the Sony and Square events are over with on the 3rd.

i havent heard of them either, but theres a bunch of comments claiming that they're reliable.

"Dude, don’t even sweat it!Only fools will claim the information presented here is unreliable, they seem to have forgotten that this was indeed the first site to confirm the existence of Linger In Shadows(As a matter of fact,I believe it was Sev who made the post back then),first site to confirm In-Game XMB was coming, first site to confirm the PSN ID profile ‘Cards’ were real,etc.etc.

The irony of this whole thing is,some people still believe that Square are going to deliver Exclusive games for the PS3/PSN.Wait until Square hosts another Press Conference, unless Sony have reached some sort of agreement with Square,I can almost guarantee you this much;ALL Square Enix games will be Multi-platform:FF13,FF13-Versus,Kingdom Hearts, you name it.

Now don’t get upset with me,I’m just stating the truth lol"

I don't know if they're reliable in any way at all but some things just make sense.

SE is remaking their FF games in some kind of logical order.  That logical order happens to be by number and they just released FFIV.  If we're going by that whole logic thing we can expect the next one to be FFV or FFVI, depending if they want to do another lesser known FF game.

Also, their team is pretty tied up in all things FFXIII and unless FFVII is also coming on the DS I don't think they would let that remake go to just anyone.  One things SE is very good at is cinematics and making things look wonderful so if they're making a PS3 game they're going to want to do it themselves.

so yeah, I generally don't put a lot of stock in rumors or information from random websites but this one actually makes sense so I don't mind believing that one.

Wow a sequel for mobile? That's retarded. They released the remake on DS. Can't they assume people who played the game on DS are likely to get the sequel...

No, old-school FFs are not nearly as popular outside Japan as the ps-era FFs. A remake is more than enough for me, it´s not as if FFIV had any unclosed plot left after the end. A prequel focusing on Golbez, that would be interesting.

Like Twestern said, SE is following numerical order with FF. A FFVII remake will eventually happen, but not before FFVI and perhaps FFV.

Good sir, I do not know if I would call that a "sweet burn", but I think it calls for a high five.

Damm really hoped it would.

Also, SE will have to first work on the presumably last compilation game of FFVII before working on a FFVII remake. The best way to close the FFVII chapter would be with a remake of the original.
