Forums - Gaming - Sega Saturn\PS3...Paradox?

Burgles said:

1. The Sega Saturn failed in part due to it being hard to code for (2 main CPUs, hard to keep in synch).

2. The Sega Saturn saw shoddy ports of PS1 games (Doom amongst others only ran at 20fps and looked terrible). It was more powerful than the PS1 but only Sega bothered with putting in the effort to produce games that were top notch.

3. Sega got lazy with the Saturn, they made incorrect assumptions about the target market.

4. Saturn's 1st party titles were generally superb.

5. Most 3rd part games didn't even use the "2nd CPU"

6. 1st parts titles were the ones that people played and said "wow".

The thing Sega didn't have enough of by this point due to the 32x mainly is BRAND LOYALTY

...Does this remind you of another company?

Here's some food for thought

...Do people look back at the history of the Saturn, and then "blame the developers for shoddy ports".

...Is it Sega's fault for choice of hardware and DOES IT EVEN MATTER?

...A Failiure is still a failiure

Does anyone think that Rock_on = Burgles?

I mean, they both make the same amount of sense when they post.

The Saturn did well at Launch and sunk..... The PS3 did good at launch sunk for awhile but is finding it's way back up.... so No... the PS3 isn't close to the Saturn...

Boycotting the following:

1. Yoshi: He ate my car and spit out a toaster.

2. Igglybuff: Totally false advertisement. You can have as many as you like they don't buff nothing.

3. the Terms Hardcore/Softcore... We're talking Video Games. Not Porn.

4. The term Casual as relates to Gamers: We make them sound like outsider's that happen to play games.  If that were the case they'd own a PS3.

5. Donuts.... Beacause I drink Beer...... and the biggest fan of Donuts hates Beer.

6. Boycotts: Their so lame.

So because the PS3 is similar to the Saturn in its third party relations its a failure.

Is this even worth tearing apart? Boy you hate the PS3 don't? Its ok, a lot of people do. I guess this is a good way to vent, lol.

I miss Rock_on, at least he was funny.

Is he permabanned? I hope not. I enjoyed reading his opinions even when they got outrageous!

he graduated. He's taking some classes at gamepro for his masters in trolling.

LOLz!!!!

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler

That would be such an apt comparison except the PS3 has already sold more hardware and software than the Saturn did in its entire lifetime.

But I'm locking this thread because there are a lot more things that are different than similar, and you're a regular troll.

I can't help myself. I'm sorry.

You know I guess if one wants to believe something its easy to look for things to fit the slot...

Maybe that is my problem...Xbox36\PS3 equally as rubbish in different areas, good in others...but PS3 isn't actually seen for what it is, the 360 is.

Thats my motivation for posting stuff like this, although it does have some truth and substance, the repies are always interesting.
