Squilliam had technical facts. Broncos just wants to make a hyperbole and get people to associate his purposefully ridiculous argument with the technical discussion in the other thread.
Personally, I don't see why people would care so much about the 360 or PS3 being more powerful than the other. The power is close enough, and it's not like either of the system is vieing for "most powerful ever" or even "true HD console" since many of the games for both consoles can't even be properly considered HD (including, for example, Halo 3).
So the 360 has much more fill rate than the PS3. Who cares? So the Cell has more raw floating point power than the Xenon but it is inefficient in application to various game-related tasks that often need general purpose CPU power. Who cares? So dual layer BDs have just over 5 times the storage capacity of dual layer DVDs. Who cares? It applies to nearly nothing.
We're gamers. We care about the games. Who has the best games, who has the best exclusives, and on which system do the multiplat games generally play the best. For me, this answer was obviously Xbox 360 but someone who has different priorities as a gamer may say PS3 and be just as correct.
