I still ask. What platformers are there ont he 360? Also did they miss Super Mario Galaxy, Super Paper Mario, and a few other platformers on the wii?

Oh, I am no fanboy, and if you want to go throwing that claim around you better have at least one post to back it up.  I am, however, intelligent and can back up what I say without resulting to internet acronym gibberish (lol rlz?)

Now for the lesson, as you obviously have no idea about statistics...

If I say "I bought 5 apples," that is a fact.  Its not an opinion that I bought five apples.  Someone can't come up to me and say "Don't even TRY to claim you bought 5 apples, you bought 2 bags of grapes!"  The reasons why I bought apples has no bearing on the factuality of how many apples were bought.  If someone then tells some 3rd party "Crashman bought 5 apples," he is not stating his opinion that I bought 5 apples, he is stating a fact.

Now I realize a lot of people here have a problem differentiating between fact and opinion (lolz, the Wiiz iz 4 teh kiddie n00bz) but unfortunately, ignorance isn't painful. 

If someone states "Halo is a perfect 10!" or "Halo sucks the proverbial donkey" both are opinions, and have no bearing on any one else, unless they chose to allow it to.  Making a claim that "360 has the best games!" is an opinion, and any one who is a Metal Gear fan or a Mario fan will surely disagree, as the 360 does not have said games available.

Please.  For your own sake.  Learn to keep your mouth (or fingers) shut when you are about to make yourself look, shall we say, less than intellectually gifted, as there are masses of people are the sight more informed, logical, and free from rabid brand loyalty that will easily put you in your place.

That's a pretty biased way of looking at numbers... People gotta stop being so insecure about the console they own seriousley.

Platformers on the 360. Reminder though that platformers are not an easy genre to define anymore. A lot of action games are heavily platform-like, as in Crackdown, but most don't consider that a true platformer. IGN doesn't consider the new Crash Bandicoot a platformer, nor does it consider Ratchet and Clank a platformer. I'll just give eveything I think is one and someone can edit my list if they feel it's missing something or too heavy:

Kameo: Elements of Power
Sonic the Hedgehog
Crackdown
Crash of the Titans
Tomb Raider: Legend(I know some don't consider Tomb Raider a platformer, but it involves tons of hard to place jumps and lots of platforms. I consider it one and it meets basic criteria)
N+(XBLA)
Exit(XBLA)
Prince of Persia Classic(XBLA)
Cloning Clyde(XBLA)
Wik & the Fables of Souls

None of this is to say I think 360 is the platforming king. I just wanted to throw out what I think it has as far as platformers. Honestly Mario Galaxy really trumps this entire list.

Basically all this thread was is summed up in this simple term apologists. Making excuses for their consoles failures. Laughably none of the excuses are even remotely relevant to the question at hand. The analysis is objective the majority of you bitching about it are not. Nothing any of you brought up was even remotely relevant to the point which console right now has the better library period.

Microsoft having a head start is irrelevant. Your console not having five good games to compare is irrelevant. Microsoft buying exclusives is irrelevant. However they got there right now Microsoft has the best library, and for a neutral observer that is all that should matter end of story.

First the Manufacturers and their products are different. That is why we even bother to compare them in the first place. Launch dates were strategic and imparted bonuses and detractors to the manufacturers and the consoles. To say the difference is an excuse not to compare is patently idiotic.

Your console doesn't have five real good games to rate so shovel ware is hitting the scoring hard. This is a reality check by this point in a life cycle each console has hundreds of games. The manufacturer has a duty to keep their library varied and of high quality. Planning for the future is very important.

Microsoft buys exclusives so it is not fair. Reality check time Sony buys exclusives as well. There are a number of games subsidized by Sony, and they are the publishers of a great many of their exclusive games. Sony could have had more money if they hadn't blown so much of it on their Trojan horse loss leading strategy. Nintendo could buy exclusives if they were not so busy hording cash. Different strategies. Sony bet on advanced hardware technologies. Nintendo sees no reason to buy exclusives with their first party offerings. Microsoft made it a point to have capitol to spend on exclusives.

To summarize stop making excuses. None of them are valid. None of them matter to a neutral observer. Were you looking to purchase a game console right now, and had no juvenile bias this would be important information for you to consider.
