Forums - Gaming - Wii Olympics - concept game...

I appologize for bumping an ancient thread, but I was looking for a thread that had analyst predictions from early this year and I found this thread ...

All I can say is shams FTW!

I was playing Wii Sports (again) last night, when I started thinking what other (similar) games could the Wii do, that would be just as fun. Then it hit me... the Olympics! Take the biggest world-wide sports "brand", combine with a truly world-wide event, something that garners billions of viewers... and throw in the Wiimote. The potential for this game (esp. if they got it with proper online competition) would be phenomenal. I'll list some of the events that I think would work nicely, you could pretty much list every event hosted... - Javelin (dont let go of that Wiimote!) - running/sprint events - various swimming events/strokes - table tennis - cycling - rowing (two wiimotes?) - most sports ..etc.. With the Olympics starting early 2008, I think would be an awesome title/opportunity. No idea who has the license this time around, but I seriously hope they develop a (decent) Wii game - its a bit of a no-brainer really :)

Nintendo already thought of that, and is using it for the first Sonic/ Mario crossover.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

The point of bumping it was the date of the prediction

May/June I believe ...

I just thought that it was interesting that shams came up with this idea several months before it was announced

Haha...I was very confused for a bit. I'm like...NOBODY mentions Mario and Sonic? I figured everyone was just taking that into account and just decided to talk about a Wii-themed Olympics instead.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

haha, this thread reminds me of nitnedo power magazine jokes, where somone sends in a letter saying how cool it would be if sgea made a nights game, ect

I got back from my OS trip around the 20th Jan '07 - and posted my initial "idea" about 3 weeks later. Mario & Sonic definitely was not announced at the time ;)

I'll be happier if some of my other predictions come true...
