I bought an xbox 360 pro and 120 gig hard drive this week and sold my old 2006 model. (as well as my ps3)
A friend of mine bought a 360 a month ago as well.
Mine is the Falcon model with HDMI (Gen 3) with mnfd date of April 21 2008 and 175 W power supply etc etc...
My friends is the Zephyr model with HDMI (Gen 2) March 14 2008.
My old xbox 360 was the Xenon model (Gen 1).
Recently my friend brought his console over for some local 8 player halo 3 and we compared the heat output of our consoles.
Now both Zephyr and Falcon models generate noticably less heat that the Gen 1 Xenon model, however I was quite surprised to notice that my freinds Zephyr model actually feels a little cooler than the brand new Falcon model.
Does anyone know why this is so?
They both have same heatsinks and and with a smaller chip and less power consumption I thought the Falcon model would generate less...
