Forums - Microsoft - Bioware’s Commitment to xbox360 Exclusive Mass effect Trilogy.

Kind of odd that you cite Age of Conan needing massive HDD space, and ram, yet it's still coming to the Xbox 360...

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

This really means nothing at this point. If EA decides there is money to be made, it will come to the PS3 as well. It may be a timed exclusive, but it will come.

It's a completely different game.  They had to build it entirely separately because the 360 can't play the PC version.  That's why it's not going to be released until at least halfway through 2009, and that's why the devs have been completely silent on the features.  The fact that it's been continually delayed implies either A) It sucks and the devs are doing anything they can to make it work or B) It's vaporware and they are putting off announcing its cancellation.

How is something exclusive when it's multi platform? A game on the pc is still a game on another platform that can be played on it in my book. Call it console exclusive or something, but not exclusive as Mass effect is clearly not exclusive in the form off only being available for 360 owners.

Could be the fact that very few console owners really give a rats behind about the PC, and vice versa. If the game comes out on only 1 console versus 3, guess which will get a higher benefit?

I don't give a rats behind about the 360.  Doesn't mean I'm going to start saying 360 games don't count and PS360 multiplats are PS3 exclusive.  Try a better argument next time.

I understand the logic but I sort of agree with mrstickball here as well.  I tend to think these 2 markets don't overlap quite as much as some people believe.  Maybe it's just my ancedotal evidence but I have a pretty big group of PC gaming friends and besides myself I'm the only one that seems interested in console gaming at all.  A shame too because the current PC market isn't exactly setting the world on fire.

Plus if they follow the same draconian-DRM scheme as the first Mass Effect they can keep it.  I won't invest ANY money to a company that restricts their customers that way no matter how much more "enchanced" they try to tout the version.

Mass Effect 2 confirmed to be PC exclusive!  (at least by this definition)

Bioware didn't make KOTOR II, so I don't understand the KOTOR II dissing...

I don't care about a 360 ME2, I'm buying it for PC. I definitely liked Mass Effect even with its flaws...it was better on the PC at least.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Mainly because years later I'm still angry about that game.

@naznatips and twestern
Dudes... So much hate and bias against Mass Effect. Why?
twestern: You 've been whining about the game from the moment it came out
naznatips: your review was ...how can I say it, a point of major disagreements.
I guess you can't stand a guy (like me) who says that the problems were minor and the gaming experience was great! Do you think I am crazy?

@ twestern You didn't finish KOTOR II because of this bug? I guess you were unlucky (I finished it of course), but that doesn't mean it was a fail. It still is one of the best RPGs out there. Epic fail? No way.

I hope to god that the texture pop-in, and the numerous graphical glitches (Benenzia anyone?) are fixed.

Question: Were they fixed in the PC version? To anyone that played that version.

And LOL @ PC/360 not being multi-plat. So untrue. Glad someone finally called people out on that.

A PC is not a console! When they talk of exclusivity, their talking about it not being on any other console like the PS3! Its very obvious, any one arguing otherwise is not very smart. A PC is not a dedicated gamming machine. Mass Effect exclusivity means basically, you wont see it on the PS3 or the Wii. Why do people argue about this? Final Fantasy VII was also on the PC yet people still associate it as a PS exclusive to this day!

Well, I'm a PC gamer, and I'm interested in console gaming. Let me clarify that it's hard to know a PC gamer interested in console gaming because:
- There are hundreds of millions of PC gamers worldwide (more than all home console gamers put together), so even if 20 millions of them had consoles, it would still be below 10% of the entire PC gaming userbase.
- PC is considered the superior platform and roughly everything that HD consoles offer, the PC offers more and better. So the chance of a PC gamer having a console is reduced.

The 'draconian' DRM of Mass Effect is something that probably I probably would wish on many games, since it only needs to check the disk once when you're installing the game, and after that you can play Mass Effect as much as you want without any disk in the drive. Draconian? I think you're mistaken.

What're you talking about the PC gaming's state? It's healthier and bigger than ever. After a few "darker" years of PC gaming (which coincided with the beginning of mainstreaming DD services), now PC is in full force and the amount of awesome games coming out for PC proves it. Want proof? Then how about the number AAA titles that available this gen between PC and Consoles:

90% PC games - 17 (14 if you don't count standalone Portal, HL2:Ep.2 and TF2)

90% Console games - 19

Just the fact that PC has almost as much AAA and the entire PS3/360/Wii says something.
