Forums - Nintendo - Dead Rising Wii - A lackluster port

This thread = failed completely.

1.) No one expects the game to look like the 360 game
2.) One screen shot proves nothing. I can find a screen of trhe 360 version w/o a single zombie in it. OH NO!
3.) There is yet to be a single video of this game in action
4.) No one has played it yet
5.) Still very far in development

please save your expert analysis until there is something to analyze.

I occasionally get lost inside buildings and can't find the exit. I need food badly. What Video Game Character Are You?

And if they can fix the enemies in just a few months, don't you think they could fix the environments in the remaining 9 months of development?

Besides, HSV already stated those are mostly place holder textures.

Not that I don't believe you, but do you have a link for that?

I want to know more about what they plan on doing about the textures.

Here's a recent one.

The newest build of the Conduit recently shown looks damn good... but one thing kind of sticks out... some of the environmental textures such as floors and walls look a bit flat. Are these place holder textures like the ones for the alien character models previously?

Rob Nicholls – We are still constantly polishing up our textures, so expect improvements across the board before we ship.

Ahh, okay then.  ^_^

HVS had me worried for a minute.  Good thing that they're gonna be improving the textures.

Ok since your saying you care about games I'll give a more decent reply. I've played both of Capcom's ports for Wii so far and they were both extremely well-done. I think that adding Wii motion controls to  Dead Rising will make it an extremely fun game. The only negative thing I have heard anybody say about this version has to do with graphics - something that should not even have bearing on how you look at Wii games. Running into a next room in order to run into 50 more zombies is no problem to me. I did not like the first game because it had me bored half an hour into playing. The only thing that could save it is motion.

Dead Rising for Wii is a brilliant idea. The controls are perfectly suited for the Wiimote. Imagine swinging your Wiimote and beating the pulp out of those zombies with your baseball bat. Wii offers very precise controls that might actually make the game playable.

Using the RE4 engine, Capcom could extract a lot more juice from the Wii.

Heeeeyyyy!!!! <Snap>

Of course there is time for it, but they sould do a good job, right know in some fields it looks better than Halo and is getting close to Halo 2...

By me:

It makes me wonder how much people expect out of Wii ports nowadays haha.

This is why Resident Evil 5 isn't on Wii.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Because they are working on Dead Rising instead?

To all those calling Shameless a troll, look at this Kotaku article, where they come to the exact same conclusion, and include several more screens. You Wii owners on this site can be some of the whiniest people on the internet when someone tells you that the Wii isn't as powerful as the 360 or the PS3.
