Forums - Gaming - Most obscure game(s) you ever played.

Two for me, both on the NES.

The first is Shingen the Ruler which was made by Hot B.

The game was given to me be a Japanese friend of mine you could get no where in the game.  It is a turn based combat, strategy game with some RPG elements.  It is especially challenging in the beginning as you are surrounded by enemies who are stronger than you, and outnumber you.  You start with very little resources also, and buying additional army units are costly.

My friend was very surprised some weeks later when I told him  I beat the game.  Very challenging and fun in my opinon, but he and I are the only souls that I know that ever played that game.  Maybe we had the only copy!

The second I don't remember the name of the game.  It was one of those unlicensed games for the NES.  It was a puzzle type game like Tetris.  The basic premise of the game was that your screen would fill up with various animals (snakes, cats, dogs, and others)  You had to match similar animals to clear more space.  If the screen filled up you lost, and you had to survive for an X amount of time.  Fun game.  My whole family enjoyed it back in the day.  Mom, sister, dad, and myself.

What about you.

Allegiance. It was actually made by Microsoft Research. It's the only game they ever made and was far ahead of it's time. Large multiplayer battles over the internet combining action with RTS elements.

I suppose The Guardian Legend, but i dont know how obscure it is. : /
