Wii being dragged by motion control but for how long?

How far can the Wii controls drag the console on through this war?

The ability to have full motion through the controls was huge innovation from Nintendo and has proved to be a great success but how long will it carry on until people begin to get bored? In fact, how many of you have already brought a Wii but don’t use it? Is the Wii sports the only game you own?

Ever since the first consoles gaming has always been sit down, accept arcade games. That was until the Wii was released, it took the gaming world by storm because it was so different. The graphics wasn’t impressive but the game play was. Do gamers really enjoy standing and moving all the time? Does it really just make for complications that are unwanted? I believe that the Wii has only survived due to the new take on controls but i also believe that eventually gamers will always come back to a Hardcore system, Playstation3, Xbox 360. The Wii may appeal to a wider audience but how much of this audience play the console all the time?

That is just my opinion but I am interested in hearing yours. What I want to know is what consoles you own, which one you play the most and what games you own for it. Write all comments below or in the forums. Users can now register to the site.

You always find the most positive news for Nintendo. Looking at your avatar I must wonder if these opinions do not mirror your own sometimes. Oh well.

To anser your question I qutoed my self in a post earlier in this thread.

Shouldn't the username indicate this is just a Sony fanboy? He's just posted two articles written to make the Wii look bad.

vaio is huge wii fan

Could have fooled me.

Actually I post anything I read that i find interesting and think you guys would find interesting or funny, it doesn´t mutter what it is about or what console it bashes or praises. I am the last person to be a Sony fanboy, infact I probably am the biggest Sony hater on this site but I stress that I have no hate whatsoever against PS as I love consoles and games too much to hate any console but Sony as a company I couldn´t hate more as my experiences with their products are way beyond terrible. Some of my favorite games are on the PS like TEKKEN or MGS and many more.

My username is my real name I am named after my grandfather and the name is a very common greek name (i have a greek mother and Italian father but I am born and live in Sweden)

@Cougarman TY for setting the record straight as I am the biggest Nintedo fan and have been since early 80´s but I don´t let the love for Ninty blind me or set me apart from great games from other consoles.

Is that an answer good enough for you?

I had already read that post and was responding in part to that mentality with my comments.

Once again, how can an article have any credibility if the author lacks the basics of spelling and grammar. This is simply a fanboy rant trying to discredit something successful.

Vaio posts a lot of stuff from different sources and perspectives.

Because of where this one is from and its structure, it probably should have been made clearer that this is not necessarily the poster's point-of-view.

I personally like seeing Vaio's posts because he sees things that I would never find.

As for the opinion in the post -- it is just as wrong as the response on the original posting site talking about how poor the Wii's attach rate is.

I am Mario.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

I bought a Wii on launch and got bored with it in under a week. At first I used to sit there and just mess around with it because of how badass it was...

Wii will continue to be dragged by motion control for quite a while IMO. It does not attract "hardcore" gamers or whatever you call them, but it appeals to other people - people that do not even play video games. It is aimed at a much wider range of people and is enjoying enormous success because of it. This is why I don't even compare Wii sales to PS3/360 sales becuase Sony and Microsoft stayed true and actually want to please gamers as to where Nintendo is getting more people to enter electronic gaming - but on a completely different level.

“If any creator has not played Mario, then they’re probably not a good creator. That’s something I can say with 100 percent confidence. Mario is, for game creators, the development bible.

Because Wiimote and nunchuck're seperate from Wii itself ,much like an accessories. So there're still have many ways to improve its abilities ,or even it designed.

So ,if game's developers already see Wii sales going quite well now ,and know(as we know) that this console still need more hardcore games.

Then why don't they make some (good)hardcore games for Wii?We're still in the very beginning of this generation ,it maybe too fast to say who'll win and who'll lose. Same as how long this motion control'll bring Wii to.

@vaio

Some people always tend to 'jump the gun' and automatically assume....so don´t worry, and please keep posting articles from different perspectives.

in my opinion, he is partially right because i know many people who own a wii but have stopped using it or rarely use it.
this does not not really matter though as many more people are drawn to buy the wii.
