I would just like to remind everyone that the OP doesn't know how to do math.

 

he somehow dodged his mistake by claiming that "soon it will be 400%, even 600%."

and for some reason, whoever was arguing with him let him off the hook.

 

but he still doesn't know how to do elementary level math

 

why bother?

Their is a problem when comparing something like WiiFit to Metroid Prime 3 in terms of sales. Metroid Prime 3 is a core game which only appeals to the core. WiiFit appeals to the casual crowd and it also appeals to the Fitness crowd. The more boundaries a product is able to cross the more potential it has to have more sales than a product that is limited a specific demographic.

Also the casual audience is larger than the core and Fitness products is a billion dollar business. Any product that can reach both those demographics has the potential to reap great sales.

No. I was responding more to his assertion that it had to be amazing based on this, that, and the other thing. The game was a severe disapointment coming off the first one. Metroid PRime 3 being worse than its predecessor is just a by-product of it being god awful.

 I hardly let him off the hook. Go check the previous page. I did a great job of insulting his math skills. The problem is outside of the thread title he actually uses the correct math and says it is 4 times greater.

I agree that it wasn't as good as the original prime. But it was no way in hell "god awfu"l. It is still an AAA game, and ended the series wonderfully. If you want to pick on a metroid game pick on Hunters. Now that is a " god awful" game. Prime 3 was much better than 2 btw, which imo is all it need to be, because 2 was excellent as well.

Why bother listening to you at all. You're to scared to post where you live (where is it so I can poke fun). You don't have any games listed that you own. All we know about you is that you're "Curvy". Me? I'm straight. Straight up man enough to admit that I was wrong with the term 400%, but right that wii fit has outsold MP3 4 to 1. That's right. 4 Wii fits sold for every MP3 sold.

And that does not prove that MP3 is a bad game but does show why casual gaming is Nintendos focus this gen.

Why would I try to hurt someone feelings by comparing sales numbers of 2 unrelated products? That would be as pointless as comparing Guitar Hero 3 and Ninja gaiden Sigma sales on the PS3. As for Nintendo gaming lineup, that also won`t change the fact that I could get 20 of the top 30 best rated PS3 games on a cheaper HD console (and 4 of the 10 exclusives are downloadable games).

 I never got around to playing 2, which is what causes a lot of my backlash against the game I suspect. Rather than having a game that is closer to the amazing first one, I am stuck with a very large step down. Now, before people latch onto that comment I will say that even a large step down from Metroid Prime can be an amazing AAA game. But we have had this conversation before so we will just have to agree to disagree until I force myself to try the game again.

 Swing and a miss. While 600% is unrealistic for a few months, I would say it is probably a lowe estimate for a year or so off. Metroid Prime 3 was god awful and did nothing to live up to the charm of the original Prime let alone the original Metroid series. Feel free to keep trying though.

You must not have played the same MP3 that I, and all the critics who praised it, did. That was in almost every top 10 list of last year.

 

Maybe you didn't like it, but that game was amazing. Period.


Oh I did but I had higher standards than most people. The original Prime outsolde 3 by 100%. Critics lavished praise on the original Prime and it was one of the highest rated games ever. So really the question is what game were you playing that it actually lived up to the legacy of the original Prime.

 

 I've played them all. And I guess you'll just ignore the great reviews and high scores that MP3 got, because it doesn't fit into your tiny image of the world.

 

I suppose you're one of those guys who hates every latest installment of an ongoing franchise, only to hate the next even more. Enjoy that. It sounds like a TON of fun.
