See me and this guy disagree more often then not and yet we can have a civil discourse. You are correct Sc94597. But the heart of the matter is that casual games are vastly outselling core games on Wii so don't be surprised that that is Nintendos focus.
And yes Smash Brothers and Animal Crossing are casual.

If smash bros is casual, then so is Grand Turismo, Final Fantasy, Halo, Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto, and tons of other ps360 franchises. As for casual games selling more than core games. Here is a list of 1st party nintendo games. Any game that interests the core gamers, automatically registers as core imo even if it also adresses casuals.
Core
Super Mario Galaxy-6.68m
Super Smash Bros Brawl-6.24
Mario Kart Wii-6.27
Metroid Prime 3- 1.43
Twilight Princess-4.81
Mario Strikers Charged- 1.71
Super Paper Mario-2.40
Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn-.52
Battalion Wars 2-.16
Excite Truck- .62
Total-30.84
Casual
Wii Sports(Not including NA, Idk if its bundled with the wii in EU so I'm going to post those numbers)-13M if it is bundled in Eu then 3.13 mln
Wii Play- 13.57
Link's Crossbow Training-2.13
Big Brain Academy-2.51
Pokemon Battle Revolution-.99
DK Barrle Blast-.44
Wii Fit-5.73
WarioWare- 2.34
Endless Ocean-.57
Total-41.07 or 31.91mln depeding on if wii sports is bundled in Eu or not. To me that doesn't seem like highly outselling core games. The only casual games to outsell the best selling core games are the "Wii" titles.
Edit: Oops forgot wii fit (:. Edit2: And wario ware, endless ocean.
Edit3 As for metroid prime. I actually thought Prime 3 was close to the level of the original in terms of greatness. Definately a great ending to the prime series. Btw I'm a big metroid fan if you haven't noticed.
