This is a pointless discussion. Blu Ray is the future, the preferred HD format. It will take over the market not finish the DVD market. DVD has not exactly finished VHS, u can still buy it.

Dude...I apoligize for the quick reply. I didn't even bother to actually read all of your facts. I'm simply here to tell you that whoever told you that  Blu Ray is not the next format (and that digital media is the next step) is a fucking idiot.

I didn't like HD-DVD either (although originally I supported it more than BR, simply due to the lack of region codes.  Once HD-DVD announced region coding, I supported neither equally)

Maybe, instead of posting that people (who, by the way, used numbers, analysis, and logic to make conclusions, and were then apparently attacked as HD-DVD fanbois) are idiots without giving a reason, you could contribute something helpful to the conversation, like looking over our arguments and seeing if you can find a specific instance where we made a false leap of logic, or how we reached a fallacious conclusion?
