What do think the PlayStaion 4, Xbox 720, Wii 2 be? Will they even use the names I mentioned before?  Do you think any company will quit? Join?

That´s really hard to say....this 7th gen is radically different and seems to be a "divisor" and a dictator on the future of the industry.

Im not going to know because im not buying anymore consoles after this generation.

Why won't you?

Nintendo won't call it a wii2. I expect a different name, but i expect it to be similar in capabilities. HD output (upto 1080p, but no newer formats if any exist) and increased storage (maybe disk, maybe 8 gigs flash who knows) but not a ton. Probably going to have new/improved controllers. It'll have full backward capability with the wii. I don't expect it to be super powerful, but probably close to as powerful as the PS3 and 360 are today. I expect them to keep the price around $250

PS4 depends on how things turn out for the PS3. If things go bad but not horrible, we may not see a PS4 for 10 years, since in 5 years an upgrade would mean another $600 console that people would turn down again, or they would have to release something that is almost identical to the PS3 now, at a $300 price point. IF they completely scrap the PS3 within 2 years, then i expect a totally new machine from Sony that is cheaper and with a different name in 4 years. For Sony to quit, they would have to sell less than a million over Christmas, with a 5 million total at year end.

If the PS3 succeeds, they would keep the PS name alive and release another super console with streaming TV, downloading movies, 2160P (for the new TV's Sony made) 400GB hard-drive, etc... coming out at a high price point.

Microsoft won't quit unless Sony quits. I wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft calls it the X-box 720. I expect the same thing as a PS4, with lots more down loadable content, whatever the latest HD format is, huge hard-drives, latest gen disk formats. I wouldn't be shocked if they included some form of Microsoft Office suit to convince "casual" players that it has more uses than just games. Essentially I expect a blend between a PS4 and an AppleTV, and a home computer.

 Nice prediction, I also thought the same about the successor of the Wii like you. But the PlayStation 4 in my opinion would have Motion Sensors like the Wii and functions of the PlayStation 3, with 2160P. Microsoft will make the Xbox 720 and it will sell horrible, the 8th generation will be the last generation for Microsoft. Apple will also release a console which will be simple and easy, a true competiton for nintendo.

I forgot to include that the topic is also about portables so feel free to comment on that.

Wii 2 - Will have 256MB of ram.  Some people will accuse it of being just two Wiis ductaped together but it'll be as powerful as 3 Wiis.  It'll be the first Nintendo console with a harddrive (40 gigabyte).  It won't be able to play movies.  It's controller will be similar to the Wii's except completely wireless and far more accurate.

Xbox 720 - Will have 2 gigabytes of ram.  It'll come with a 200 gigabyte harddrive standard and will be about 4 times more powerful than the Xbox 360.  It'll include the cpu and gpu on a unified chip made by AMD-ATI.  It's controller will be motion controlled which will work in conjunction with an included camera.

Playstation 4 - Will also have 2 gigabytes of ram and a 200 gigabyte harddrive standard.  It'll have a chip/gpu created by IBM and Nvidia.  It'll also have a motion controller that will be only slightly larger than a credit card.

Powerwise the difference in power between the Xbox 720 and Playstation 4 will be very slight.  The Wii will be about 20% as powerful as those two consoles.

Let's call it N6 not Wii 2 if ya don't mind.
