i just get the feeling that pikmin isn't coming any time soon. miyamoto basically just said they were working on it to make the reporters shut up, so it isn't like they were even ready to announce it yet.

^ Or when asked, they mention the game closest to being done. So I do see it coming soon. Also nintendo doesn't care if people keep complaining, so I don't see why they would announce pikmin to make them stop.

If Pikmin were 8 months from release, we would have seen footage of it already.  I'm sure it's coming out in 09, but not March 09. 

We saw and heard about MK Wii last E3, and it came out this spring.  Same applies to Brawl. So obviously, we'll hear about Pikmin a little more than four months in advance.

And Iwata,the president of Nintendo said that they won't be showing games more than a "Few" months before release after E3. The only game to break this rule since is Wii Sports Resort. 8 months is definately not a "few".

Yeah its pretty likely to be a place holder.

And if anyone actually thinks this game is going to another platform you have not been paying attention. Obviously a Nintendo IP isn't going to a rival platform but DS is ruled out as well since Miyamoto has specifically mentioned that he thinks the Wii lends itself to Pikmin very well.

We might get a spin-off Pikmin on DS or possibly even dual release.  But we won't get a DS only Pikmin 3.

Wow, the Wii sure is getting some great games. Unfortunetly none of them are close to release. Fatal Frame 4 is probably the closest, and its about 4 months away.

@DJmiester we did not see animal crossing footage till now and it's definitely less than 8 months till launch.Nintendo seems sticking with keep it close to the vest mentality which I approve.I like sudden surprises.
