Forums - Microsoft - What JRPGS do you recommend getting with the Xbox 360?

Buy all those games you will enjoy them all.

Heh, I would, if I had the money or time to play them all.

So I guess Lost Odyssey is a buy too huh? Good then. That leaves one more. I can't decide myself between Eternal Sonata and Mass Effect...

Mass effect... which is not a JRPG but is still great.

I didn't like Mass Effect. I just don't see the hype. The story is great and all but the combat was plauged by technical issues

Buy Mass Effect.

Lost Odyssey - Tales - Mass Effect are an excellent combination.

Lost Odyssey - Tales - Fable 2 is also another excellent combination.

Lost Odyssey - Fable 2 - Mass Effect for more of a WRPG flavor is also cool.

If I was buying an Xbox360 I would probably go the third option but I would also like option 2 and option 1 for my own tastes.

Tease.

Whatever you do make sure you buy Lost Odyssey, and then i'd go with Mass Effect or you could just wait for the other JRPG's coming out and pick one up then.

Btw, you haven't added my Wii FC lol.

LOL sorry Soriku. My Wii's Internet is like a ghost. When I'm playing something, the internet updates, but when I want to go online, it never works. By the way, it seems that you've matured some, that's great for you. (I'm a lurker, I'm always here, I just don't post)

Enough off topic talk. I think that I'll get Eternal Sonata because of Chopin's music in it. I'm a novice pianist so I'm very interested on this game.

That settles it then. It's Tales of Vesperia, Lost Odyssey and Eternal Sonata. Somewhere down the road I might buy Mass Effect, but these three are the games I'm gonna buy first.

Thanks for all your feedback guys!

Soriku is way more mature than a certain someone on this board who's name I will not mention due to the fact that I don't want to risk getting banned and no, it is not one of the moderators.

Definitelt get Lost Odyssey.  I can't stress that enough.

Depends on what style of RPGs you like.

If you prefer more action based, then get Tales of Vesperia and Infinite Undiscovery, as they should both be head & shoulders above Eternal Sonata.

If I was to rate the current Xbox 360 Library of Western and Eastern JRPGs, I'd put them in this order:

Japanese:
Lost Odyssey
Blue Dragon
Culdcept Saga
Eternal Sonata
Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom
Enchanted Arms
Phantasy Star Universe

Western:
Mass Effect
Oblivion (could be switched with ME if you prefer longer RPG experiences)
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance
.
..
Two Worlds

I can't think of any other WRPGs on the X360 at the moment. It really depends on your preference. If you like Action based JRPGs, then Eternal Sonata could rank higher, but the game has a confusing story, and the combat system is shallow.

Personally, I'd go for the trifeca of RPG awesomeness with Lost Odyssey, Tales of Vesperia, and Mass Effect - You'd be getting the cream of the major RPG types.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Puzzle Quest (off the xbla) is a decent puzzle/rpg
