Forums - Nintendo - This thread will live on until the Wii passes 50% market share

Obviously Nintendo arn't making games. All designers are in China making Wii's and Balance boards

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Actually that's not hard to figuer out at all

19.78 + 14.22 = 34.. wow that's convient.

VS Wii's 29.14.

So if it was by the end of the year. So to do it... wii would need to do this.

PS3+360+ 4.86< Wii

for the rest of the year.

I am too lazy however to break that down in a week to week how much wii needs to outsell. All someone would need to do is figure out how many weeks are left in the year... then divide.

Then come back up here once a week and update whether the Wii was on target, ahead of target or behind target, and by how much.

CrazzyMan is already doing a week by week comparison thread so he has a lot of experience in these things. I'll ask him to take care of Soriku's thread.

Hah, that was part of the joke of having someone reupdate it every week.

Seems like it'd need out outsell the other two 143K a week... average.  Which is kinda meaningless since christmas isn't going to be average.  But hey.  Something to shoot for.

5 $ says were under estimating most weeks more often than under est.

All manufacturers are in China mass producing Wii's and Balance boards in factories as well as all the other consoles and games at the cheapest manufacturing price.

Fixed

Actually, it would have to be by about 200k on average a week. Nearly half a year left till the end of the year, so let's say 24 weeks because it's a nice number for the calculation.

4.86m/24=0.2m~

Ah, actually your right. It is 23 weeks I lazily counted using my computers calander. Not noticing it doubled up some weeks on me for some reason.

Seems unlikely.

Ahh, u know what. Good one, you fixed it. I was simply making a point about Nintendo prioritising manufacturing systems over games and its relation to this market share, but whatever

Don't all of the consoles have a little plastic used in their systems? Or maybe even the disks? I'm confused.

Ill type slowly then should i, manufacturing increase = increased sales = market share increase
