Is anyone else having problems with this thread? It's starting to get a bit screwy on my end...

I think it was my post. For some reason it posted the quote in the body of the post but the text of my response below the postbox entriely. I deleted it. I have no idea why it did that.

It still doesn't make sense. We gamers care about the end result...but when the company doesn't really care then why bother pushing the idea? Like I said, a FF VI remake on the DS would benefit SE more than a FF VI remake on the PS3. Besides, it would take too long to make it on the PS3 and the DS would be faster, cheaper, and more profitable anyway.

Edit: Thread broke lol.

FF fans unlike DQ are graphics whores and FFVIIr on DS will look much worse then even PS1 FFVII.

Hell everything would do better on DS just about, fortunately developers have both artistic vision and wallets to feed and there is always a balancing act between the two. Even with the wii's success, Square enix isn't giving much support to the wii compared to even the 360.

You can find me on facebook as Markus Van Rijn, if you friend me just mention you're from VGchartz and who you are here.

So how exactly would these games benefit from being on wii? As a gamer, not a sales junky.

The game is not a turnbased rpg. Its an action one, which allows for motion controls to be implemented in combat easier. Oh and for turnbased rpgs, if they are built around the wii mote then they could use things like gestures for an attack. Or some rpgs like eternal sonata that incorporate action in turnbased battles. There are plenty of ways the wii could benefit rpgs.

Turn based RPGs should not have motion based gestures.

They should take advantage of the Wii's pointer functionality aand design the menus around it. This would eliminate the cumbersome loads of menus based around crosspad input. It wouldn't revolutionize the genre, but it would make it a whole lot more accessible for some people.

Yeah I mentioned that later on in the thread. Actually now that I think of it, that would be far quicker. I think I will wait and see  with games like Arc Rise Fantasia( Only turnbased one coming?)

I fail to see what waggle would add to KH.

There were tons less enemies in Zelda than KH and the waggling was tired there. In KH, with the amount of fighting done, it'll be downright detrimental to gameplay.

Some games control better traditionally, and RPGs and Action RPGs are it.

That is why regular attacks could be mapped to a button, and then special ones could utilize wii motion controls. As for TBRPGs, and ARPGS being better on HD consoles, TB rpgs on the wii have the advantage of IR, and maybe some Gestures depending on the game, and ARPGs have tbe advantage of IR, and Full motoin conntrols. Also moving for some games could have the option of point and click.  There are probably many more things that could be done.

What am I then? Not an FF fan because I don't really care about graphics? FF IX is my favorite FF and that's on the PS1. Also, the DS is stronger than the PS1 and N64...why would FF VIII look worse than FF VII again? Also, the DS FF REMAKES look MUCH better than FF VII on the PS1. This post is so ingorant it's not even funny.

@vaga

Then again...MS is likely giving them money, and besides, games like FF XIII (and SO4?) were announced before the Wii launched anyway.

Also, if they have such an artistic vision then why not put DQ IX on the PS3 and not the DS because the PS3 is able to pull off amazing cel-shaded visuals? Right...they put it on the DS for profit.

 DQ will remain exclusive to system with biggest install base in Japan. Enix have said this many times but this can change if some one is willing to pay huge check.

@Soriku

Why do you constantly bring profitability and probability into these kind of threads. Don't you have any gaming desires or wishes that aren't ruled by what would make the most money? Why can't you just leave people to speculate about where they'd like a game to go, without butting in with where you think it will go because of money to be made?

Vaga completely understands that financial considerations may lead the decision away from what he wants, but that doesn't change what he would prefer to happen. Argue with him on why you think the game would be better on some other console, not why the game would make more money on some other console.

...

But why do you interject? Don't you see it as kind of a dick move? If you tell me that you want to be an astronaut, but I tell you that your grades and physical prowess make that unlikely, wasn't that unnecessary and douchy?
