Forums - Gaming - 1UP: Top 5 Disappointing Videogame Sequels

Wow, people actually prefer KH to KH2? KH is actually the only PS2 game I own and am willing to sell... KH is just so.. kiddy and weak compared to KH2.

There are some flaws with KH2 i.e.the game is a little too easy

Yeah, it is surely much easier than KH, but hell, all that matters to me are the boss battles, and most are challenging. Also, KH2 is better looking (the Twilight Town skyis my favorite sky in games, lol), it has better battles with the gummi ship, Sora is no longer annoying, its overal more serious, and it's easier to get involved in the plot. KH2>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>KH for me.

Perfect Dark Zero is not on the list? WTH?

So going by this list the first sequel can be the worst game in the series. Interesting. According to Gamerankings.com. MGS 2 is the highest rated game in the series with a review average of 95%. I only played MGS 4 so I can not comment on any other MGS game. Of the games on that list I have not played any of them.

There were some flaws that MGS2 has that I listed like the effeminate and whiny protagonist, Raiden, the cutscenes take so much of the gameplay time and it didn't help that the story got so needlessly convoluted near the end.  That's what I heard anyway.  Oh, and also, people cited a poor writing as another flaw.

I haven't played MGS4, but MGS2 is the best out of MGS1-3...

That's not what the majority think

It was almost impossible to come with a remake that could match Chrono Trigger and Metal Gear Solid.

''Hadouken!''

The main problem with Chrono Cross was the "Chrono" on its title. If this had not been sold as a sequel to Chrono Trigger, I would love it.

And agree on MGS2, not a bad game but... WTF... just WTF.

Chrono Cross was only billed as a sequel so it would sell well.  MGS2 is the most crticized and controversial game in the series.  Even so, MGS2 was not the only game where the people complained about the effeminate nature of the protagonist. *points to Final Fantasy XII*
