anyone here from Latin America?if so how do people buy PS3 over there(do they even buy PS3 over there?)?
Talking about Brazil the playstation brand is pretty big, huge actually, but most people buy bootlegged games for PS1 and PS2. The XBox and Nintendo also have brand recognition there, but not as big as playstation (well maybe Nintendo is just as big), the main problem is the price, whenever I go to Brazil I take a PS3, PSP, Wii or whatever and sell it there, I easily make at least 300-400 US dollar profit on them. The game price is also absurd, 130 US dollars for a brand new (legal) game.
For a developing country the prices are just too high so most people resort to piracy.
@fila
so they mod the unit,,,but where are they gonna find pirated bluray games?is it available?
if sony does it officially they will probably price it high but not as high as import i guess.

don't laugh, but i saw a bog standard PAL copy of MGS4 going for US$155 on the weekend.
GTA4 was also $155.
Yes i'm in a third world country, but that price is just rediculous.
interestingly, there are virtually no 360 games or conloles here either...

I was being sarcastic. Latin America is not third world.

They sure as hell ain't as rich as most other developed countries and the pricing in those areas is going to be insane.
BTW, /sarcasm is more then enough, thanks.
The pricing is high. Third world means that they don't have things like shoes or electricity.
