They will have to lower the quality of PS3 FFXIII so Xbox360 port doesn't look worthless.

uhhh they have shown a little gameplay......during one of the trailers, you see Lightning fight, and the HUD comes on....and the graphics stay pretty damn nice. I'll post a link when I find the video

First of all the JRPG fanbase is on PS3 and by the time FFXIII will come, PS3 will overtake 360 in west. JRPGs have done terrible on 360 all over the world. |
How is the JRPG fanbase on the PS3? Perhaps you mean "part of the Final Fantasy fanbase"? Of course, that may start changing now that FF got announced for the 360... This game is still so far away that many things could happen until then.

I'm glad you're capable of having rational discussions on a gaming site.
What possible reason would they need to lower the quality on the PS3 version? You seem to be technically illiterate if you believe what you are spewing.

That was CGI...
Here's the math:
1 DVD = 5GB
1 BluRay = 25 GB
But wait, there's more... that's just a single-layer BluRay disc. Dual-layer can store 50GB (that's what MGS4 uses), while triple can store 75GB and quad can go all the way to 100GB. And don't worry, your PS3 was designed to handle increasing numbers of layers - that's why it was so darn expensive in 2006.
Compression won't help, the software tools available for both consoles are identical.
In short... if SE is serious about making both versions the same, that means they're seriously limiting what FF13 can be on the PS3. Which makes me think the versions won't really be the same - the 360 port will be a shadow of the real thing. (SE can't say this publicly, of course).
@SlorgNet: You do know there are also dual layer DVDs?
Compression won't help? BS, especially if they decide to use Blu-Ray's space for uncompressed audio (which almost no one can distinguish from well compressed audio, especially on a TV). Audio was always blamed for MGS4's huge disc space.
In short, you're wrong ;)

GTA4 area was smaller then PS2 vice city, no wonder R* come out and said MS will need better storage if they want next GTA to be on 360. The gap is there which is "HUGE", just look at KZ2.
