OT:  I guess this means FFv13 will not be out '2011 if we are lucky, we still don't know jack about it really.  What this should mean is that these companies should actually start acting like, oh I don't know, A BUSINESS!  And not with making everything multiplat, I'm talking about not  taking 5-6 years to develop a game.  Insomniac takes 2 years to make a game.  I figure, since rpgs are bigger, 3 years to make a jrpg, 4 max if it is huge.  And 3 years for the normal wrpg and 4 for a game like Oblivion.  They need to learn to be more efficient or they won't even have Nintendo to bail them out next time, they will have to hope like hell that the DS' successor is able to move software like the DS is right now because they waste so much money on console games they can't make the money back and enough for the second game.  Console makers (Nintendo, Microsoft, Sony) can help out as well by not selling their console at a loss so that they don't have to have high fees on their system.  Unfortunately this won't happen, the console makers like having that high fee so they can make their money on a loss selling system and you can't expect these companies to unlearn the last 20 years of their lives and act like a normal business and operate efficiently.

@Cwbys21 I agree with the content of your post, but nintendo is very conservative, and I don't even remember them once selling their consoles at a lost. That is correct for MS and Sony though.

FFXIII versus Multi-plat confirmed. War has changed...

Z@MG, MGS4 confirmed for the 360!

This year's E3 is teh megatonz for Microsoft!

LOL Oh God. If that was announced along with FFXIII, PS3 fanboys wouldve killed themselves.Hopefully it doesn't come out tho, cuz that would mean Sony still atleast cares about exclusives that they worked out a deal with Konami.

Are you for real about Versus being that far away? I thought FFXIII and Versus were going to be released simultaneously.

"More than a turning point, you could say that perhaps this is a change in trends for the game industry as a whole," he offered. "In the past, a single platform would be at the top, and the others would not be so close.

"But now each console has many users, so this has kind of dictated the way that Final Fantasy will evolve in the future, and why it's being released on multiple consoles at once."

This is all it means. SE made the wrong bet and now they're trying to salvage their position by buying insurance.

Is Star Ocean 4 still 'exclusive'? I think it is.

Hmm, pie.

Well, since I believe the ps1 was sold at a loss, and the n64 was more powerful it would make sense it was sold at a loss, and the same with the ps2/gc.  I figured that Ninteno managed to make their money during that time because they have a virtual monopoly on the portable side, that is until Sony managed to steal some of their thunder, but they still have a good solid hold on the portables.

I think this could and probably does mean that despite denials, FFVerses13 will come to as many platforms as possible. Who knows though.

==> but still not on the Wii ...

(just a guess)
