I'm sorry but i should not have to squint to see the difference between a wii game and an N64 game.  And you people sitting here defending the game are just sad, i know gameplay is more important then graphics, but you need to draw the line somewhere, and when a game looks the same as the N64 version that crosses the line.  The wii is pretty strong and we have seen all the the special effect that games like Brawl and SMG bring to the table.

How would you guys feel if brawl still looked like this.

Or Mario kart looked like this.

Or if SMG looked like this.

Nintendo is making AC for an audience that didn't play AC on the cube. That's why they don't bother about changing the art style or whatever. Look at the big difference between the sales of the NGC and DS games. That difference are the people they target with this new AC.

Yea not gonna lie, the comparisons didn't impress me. I saw the AC wii and thought THOSE were the GC AC screens.

The game's art style is fitting and something I've grown to like, but it's not what I expect from the game. I think there needs to be some visual progression.

If you have to squint your eyes to find any real difference then it's not really worth comparing , they all look very similar to me infact I don't think I coulda told em apart without the console tag beside em.

I don't think the developers were aiming for graphics with this game so a graphical comparison doesn't make sense.

Those games go for a more realisitc style.  Thus, improvement is much more noticeable with more power at the developer's disposal.  However, as many have pointed out, the AC art style is not a very graphically intensive one.  Even if you put it on an HD console it wouldn't look much better.  The art style is awesome and it looks crisp, clean, and polished.  That's all that matters.  Should 2D games not exist because they don't use all of systems' power?

Animal Crossing is supposed to look the same.   If you can't understand why, then don't worry about it and leave the discussion.  It's not worth debating for either of us.

Just know it's better for AC to look like it did on N64/GC than it would be to ramp up the graphics a lot.    It has nothing to do with graphics over gameplay philosphy, it's simply the nature of this series.

i've just played the GC version, and i have to say that graphics suck!!

pretty bad resolution and the doors look like are made of paper, also the view is from above and not 3D as on Wii.....

the Wii versions is more 3D and a huge improvement!! (if you have played the GC version)
