well gears was suppose to be the talk of MS event at E3 08 so that it can get even more hype than the fist,,,,but unfortunately for Epic games,square Enix stole the spotlight big time in MS event.

Im pretty sure most people arent going to care which version is better, just like most people on here probably don't care about anything you say. Now I know someone is going to bring up the "change discs lawl" crap and frankly who cares. Grow up and stop trolling.

OT: GEOW 2 will prolly sell the most of any holiday title but it's not going to explode like Halo. Like someone else said it just doesn't have the hype. They will advertise well (hopefully bring back some awesome trailers like the first one had) and it will sell well. Obviously Gears isn't everyones cup of tea but this IP does what Epic wanted it to and does it damn well. Gears does offer news items despite what Crazzy says (who listens to him anyway). The new games modes are excellent and for me the best part is that they remade the party system to be like Halo's.

R2 is a fair amount different from Gears IMO and to be honest none of them are going to move a crapton of hardware. LBP (damn that games looks awesome) for Sony as well as Banjo and Fabe2 will move more hardware for their respective consoles imo. That said its just an opinion.

Someone earlier said its Gears 2 vs resistance 2 AND killzone 2? ha ha ha, the 360 is never short of a 1st/3rd person shooter, on top of gears 2 there is also Left 4 Dead coming, The protector, The precursors, Dead island, White gold: war in paradise, Huxley and many more.... the 360 has always been the best CONSOLE platform for shooters and with its upcoming titles it always will be.... lets remind ourselves shall we? Gears 1 got 94%..... resistance 1 got 86% and killzone 1.... well.. it got a PATHETIC 71%... sony know how important shooters are at the moment but if you think for one second that microsoft are gonna take their eye off the ball when it comes to the importance of shooters then you are sadly mistaken..... and with microsofts close relationship with the pc world theres no doubt that the 360 will continue to get the best shooters out there...... anyone remember how bad orange box was for ps3 compared to the superior xbox version? lol.... and finally, lets not forget portal 2, i think that was also a good move on microsofts part getting it exclusive for the 360.... 360 to start outselling the ps3 again by autumn 2008

Yeah, it's completely off topic, but I did too. I hate Gears and God of War. Both of those games/series suck bigtime and are hugely over-rated...imo.

Also, I'm kinda turning into a 360 defender, but I really can't agree more. Gears of War was better than God of War, but it was still redundant mindless shooting that was outdone by GTAIV shooting, which itself had mediocre shooting mechanics.

Also, Resistance: Fall of Man isn't any better than Prey, and it's also very "meh" not Gears or God of War "meh" but just "meh."

If I'm hating on someones favorite game, then yes, I'm very proud of myself. I assure you, I've played all of these games and found them lacking. That is simply my opinion. No need to flame.

Gears 2 can't come fast enough. Horde mode is gonna completely ruin my life. It is guaranteed awesome sales. Biggest game for the end of the year.

A higher install base doesn't equal more sales for a particular franchise so your logic is flawed. In fact, on the PS2, most game franchises saw falls in sales in later iterations compared to earlier. Gears should still easily reach 4-5 million, and be the best selling 360 game this holiday season. I think it is a bit early to call GOTY on it, especially when no one on this site has played it. This goes for all games, not just gears

When people say MGS4 had a small impact on PS3 sales, do they forget that launch week saw the PS3 beat the wii....yes it lasted a week, but it happened!

I honestly don't know what's going on in the sony forum since I barely check it - but given how there's a lot more sfans in these site I'd wager for every xfan trolling your forum there are 5 sfans trolling here. Still, if someone's being improper in your forum the proper curse of action is clean your forum instead of just trolling back. I am aware that the first option takes effort while the latter is just a matter of hitting the post button, but the proper path usually takes effort.

Also, I'd like if you edit out the xbot thing - we don't call anyone a "stard" around here and we'd rather keep this atleast slightly above gamefaq-like level of discussion.
