Forums - Gaming - Ahh, so how here is about to be a hypocrite?

Also how many games can a 20gb or even a 40gb PS3 install at once? 5-10?

Tease.

Around the Network

But-but-but- I want to come home and play the game for five minutes and get off! I don't have time to install the game! What if I uninstall the game and want to play again, I have to re-install it! ZOMFG.

Hypocrisy at it's best.

THE DIFFERENCE IS MS DIDNT MAKE HDD MANDATORY SO DEVELOPERS CANT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE INSTALLS!

I got the 20GB model on the cheap thanks to this clearance sale and Circuit ctiy's $30 gift card. No way I am using up my (relativly) limited storage space on game installs. May be for oblivion and BK, but that would be about it.

so with these installs you wont need the game, that is very diff with the sony machine because you still need the game in the console after you install, i really do think that i have misread your post because wouldn't people just get the game install it then send it back to the shop.

so have i got this correct,
Microsoft
buy game, install it to console dont need the disk anymore

Sony
buy game, install to console, still need disk in the system

For copyright reasons, the disk still needs to be in the drive, but it just checks it.

Xbox360 Arcade can't install anything ...

another fail.

Time to Work !

I'll admit that I've never had to install a PS3 game.(Cause I play them at a friends house) But there is a certain appeal to putting a disc in and being able to play... over having to wait for an Install.... Now Installing may cut down on Load Screens but after 2 generations of them most people are used to them and don't mind the wait.

Boycotting the following:

1. Yoshi: He ate my car and spit out a toaster.

2. Igglybuff: Totally false advertisement. You can have as many as you like they don't buff nothing.

3. the Terms Hardcore/Softcore... We're talking Video Games. Not Porn.

4. The term Casual as relates to Gamers: We make them sound like outsider's that happen to play games.  If that were the case they'd own a PS3.

5. Donuts.... Beacause I drink Beer...... and the biggest fan of Donuts hates Beer.

6. Boycotts: Their so lame.

Hypocracy goes hand in hand with being a Sony basher. How long before Avatars are praised as "genius"?

Its simple though. We all want the same things and bash the things we don't have. Thats fanboyism for ya,,lol

I can't be hypocritical, because I have a 20GB HDD.

However as MrStickball said, the main issue most have had with installs is their mandatory nature.

I would prefer a mandatory install, that was only 20% the size (as developers can be smart about what they install), then having to install the entire disk.

Still, I like where Microsoft went with this. It means things like GTA could look better on the 360, Oblivion could load a lot faster, and the entire thing becomes more reliable/quieter.

I think using this option is a no brainer if you ask me.

Difference is, DMJ, 360 users can still game without the install. They can still do the five minute drive-by gaming. Choice Vs Mandatory. Which do you think is better?
