I don't think I'll buy a PS3 until the Slim version comes out. There is a possibilty it will happen, as history as shown, but with all the hardware inside the PS3, it doesn't seem likely now that it will happen.

The difference between the Heatsinks from launch and the new one they will be implimenting soon.

Also took out BC hardware... USB ports... Memory Card slots.... Shrunk the blu-ray laser diode.... Shrunk the RSX to 60nm... Shrunk the Cell to 45nm.. and if they want to make it even smaller they could take out the power brick... and I might be missing something else which would make things smaller...

Oh yeah of course duh... With smaller RSX and Cell the Ps3 produces less heat and doesn't need as many fans/smaller fans.

Definitely gonna be a slim. They could just make the power brick external and make a drastically smaller system tomorrow if they really wanted to, but instead they'll wait till they shrink down other components.

Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.
